Yeah, it happens…what’s the point? It’s an upset. It isn’t the probability I take exception with. It’s the format you’re trying to draw a like for like conclusion from.There have been No. 1 seeds losing to eight seeds in hockey, NBA, etc., before. Heck, look no further than Seattle over Colorado this year.
The NCAAT isn’t played in a series, so upsets are far more likely in a one-game outcome. Do you think if Tennessee and Florida Atlantic played each other in a best-of-7 series, home and away, that Tennessee doesn’t likely win that series?
Tennessee not advancing past the S16 in a one-game outcome isn’t comparable to a team losing in a best-of-7 series.
