Alright So Which Is It?!

Of course it is . . . but the learning curve is certainly longer for a guy with no executive experience and less than a full term in the Sentate.

I'd see Obama being elected as a step up. He might not have had experience, but at least he hasn't had some experience, failed miserably and got elected anyway..

Forget about Bush's foreign policy and you tell me how W was qualified to be President. Better yet, give me a list of his accomplishments prior to his arrival at the white house.

Nice change of subject. Why does questioning Obama's qualifications lead to Bush? Becuase Obama isn't qualified?

As for his stances on the issues - what am I, Google?

You'd have to be to find out anything about him. So far he's proven that he can speak passionately and is personable. That's about it.

yea, what we need right now is someone with no experience. sounds dandy.

Experience does matter, it is one of the more important aspects in any profession. Is someone a sure failure without it? No. But it certainly can be of great use. Sounds like you are using his race, etc. to "diss" him.

I have no clue what you're talking about. Furthermore, I never said experience doesn't matter; the implicit point I was making is that experience in various public offices and government positions - the traditional route - have not proven to be the scale-tipper to success as president. Obama has been in public service from the start; I don't have the time to type up the resume for you; are you another one who wants to know where he stands on the issues? Great! Near the top of your screen is a box for typing in topics you'd like to find information about? It's called a search engine. Yours probably works as well as mine. By the way, if he had more 'experience', would you consider voting for him?

The thing is, we're electing a Chief Executive here; not a class President.

I am not asking you people, who apparently support him, to give me all the answers. If you support this guy I would assume you know something about his stances on issues and could give a better answer than he is smart and popular. Is running for homecoming queen or president? To try and say W isn't smart is asinine.

The point is that people get all defensive when you point out the obvious - that Obama is the most inexperienced candidate in the field.

Oh really? So Pedro isn't on the ballot? Again, how much worse could Obama be? W has lowered the bar to the point where the guy who works the desk at the local John Deere store could run and have a good chance.

some also tend to get defensive when they are reminded his poll numbers are the 2nd highest of all candidates and closing fast?

Good one, GA. :jpshakehead:

Well . . . It's true. Obama's grand appeal is that he's good looking, gives a good speech and is personable. Great qualities to be sure, but he seems to get a free pass on the question of whether he could actually govern.

Your tatooed answer. Nothing about it proves anything about Obama, it just deflects any real questions asked about him.
I'm not trying to prove anything about Obama. However, I'm quite certain that W is a dolt.

Why would I do that? You seem to support him so it would only make sense that you know about his views, right? So chime in anytime.

We're talking about a country that elected Ronald Reagan here..

Give me a break. Everyone can agree the Iraq war is a mess but other than that people just want to jump on the bandwagon of bashing him.

No, I thought he was an idiot way before the war in Iraq.

...true, but remember that Reagan was a 2 term governor of California who had proven his ability to lead. Whether you agree or disagree with his policies, he definitely had a record.

I'm not saying that Obama is incompetent, just that it's amazing watching people get all up in arms when you dare bring up Obama's experience.

I don't think you needed to post today for anyone to know your opinion on W. We were discussing Obama's qualifications.

I guess you could give me some reasons as to why I should be thankful that he's been our President. Maybe some examples as to how he's made this country a better to live etc etc etc..
