Alshon Jeffrey

I can see why this comment would be so offensive...because surely no other schools say negative things. Seriously, who cares?

Hey not all end up pumping gas. Just look at Demetris Summers.... Who doesn't want to end up in the canadian league after college (outside of Ricky Williams)?

I'm guessing the mods won't add "future gas pumper in South Carolina" to the thread title, but that would be fun.

Isn't the day before signing day part of a dead period? How were coaches Carroll and Kiffin speaking to him the day before signing day?

Could it be because Jeffrey called them and not vice versa?

I think coaches are allowed to call recruits during dead periods.

I think this guy is a USCjr alum. I hope Alshon dosen't have to wear that goofy hat.

If this is true, I'd be curious to know the tone and context in which the comment was made. It could be that the conversation was laid back, with the coaches cutting up with Alshon on the phone, making harmless jokes about South Carolina and Southern Cal. I really doubt Kiffin was being serious, telling Alshon that he'd end up pumping gas for a living if he goes to South Carolina. I mean, c'mon, Kiffin knows that 99% of gas stations in South Carolina are self-service these days.[/QUOTE]

That's the way I saw it, a final cut with humor. I think the reporter is showing his rear and being generally low class which seems to be most of the time these days.

I just heard that Kiffin has publically denied making these statements. They were talking about it on one of the Sports Animal shows.
