Am I the Only One??

I disagree. I am with OP on this one. I think if it were Dooley coming back to coach next year and we were going to try the same gameplan again, only without our 3 best players, then yes this would be cause for panic mode.

But this is a new coach, new style, new gameplan, new era, new team. I agree Bray is the best QB to put on the field if you're running Dooley's offense, but under CBJ's offense we may already a better candidate on the roster. Hunter played soft anyways, wasn't the same Hunter I remember. CP would work well with any offense so there's no way to positively spin that one.

Basically, it's like breaking up with the hottest girl you've ever dated because she's not wife material and its time to start looking for a wife. It sucks right now, but it's time to start building for the long run.

I like your analogy but I feel like it's more like the hottest girl we've ever dated just broke up with us because we're not husband material. Bray, JH, and CP were all-SEC guys (people can bash all they want but the offense was in no way the cause of our problems last season. These three and our O line were what made us at least competitive) and they deserved to be surrounded by players, coaches, and an administration of equal quality (we have none of those at this moment).

After seeing the utter disaster that our coaching search was, I think they saw the writing on the wall and knew it was time to bounce. I don't disagree that in the long run this will benefit our team, but people acting like this will in anyway benefit next year's squad are crazy.

Even though I KNOW they are the most talented playmakers on our team, I'm actually happy JH, CP, and Bray are heading to the NFL.
We need a new team to match our new coach. No Dooley holdovers. No attitude problems.
Even though losing these stars may hurt in the short term, we'll be alot better off in the long run. I feel like we've hit the RESET BUTTON on the last 5 years. Plus we will have more pull with star recruits looking for early playing time...V,B!

Yes and no. CP could stay and still produce. JH left his confidence on the Florida field with that ACL injury. Good luck to all three.

Only idiots are happy about our three best players leaving. All top 3 round NFL picks leaving from a losing team whose only strength was those players.

Couldn't agree more. There are going to be some sad arse faces walking and mumbling around come Sept.

CP can play anywhere.
JH could play anywhere but chose to save himself for the NFL. Time to go do that.
TB would not play much at UT next year. He doesn't fit. His draft stock would fall. He might as well take what he can get and work on his development while getting paid.

What Tennessee starter from the past 20 years do you take Bray over?

I'd say Suggs, Crompton, Stephens, Sims, R Clausen and Schaeffer. I'd take all the others over him.

The team needs leaders... Not guys that go half speed saving themselves for NFL dollars...They don't need guys who quit during games either.. So yeah it was best they left...

Since you are mentioning early playing time, I hope we can get a great recruiting class in next season. "Tiny", Stone, James, Bullard will likely all go pro after next season and we will need an all new offensive line.

None of our second level offensive line players are getting playing time, so after our current linemen graduate or declare for the NFL a season early, we will have an inexperienced offensive line in 2014...

I have not seen where Aaron Murray has declared for the draft, so this will be a weak draft class for quarterbacks.

I would take Bray over Ainge

Really?

Erik had one bad year in 2005 after coming off of a bad injury.

In 06 and 07 he went 9-3, 10-4 as a starter.

If Fulmer hadn't decided to have him run a pass play with only seconds left in the half from our side of the field against Notre Dame and set his career back 2 years he would be a lot more fondly remembered around here.

I think Murray's height is going to be a problem no matter when he declares.

Who is this person on the roster that is better than Bray? Worley... nope. Peterman? who knows he hasn't taken a snap since High School...and before anyone starts talking about high school tape I have one word for you Palardy.

Fact we had exactly 1 proven guy at QB and 3 at WR all of the 4 are GONE. We don't have a single WR on the roster that is proven outside of spot duty against nickle and dime backs and safeties.

Is Bray the Prototypical QB for CBJ's offense? nope but his talent level is at a point that CBJ could work around that and coach him up.

At this point we are almost 100% unknown on offense. Even the Oline is going to be interesting because these guys didn't work well under the types of blocking schemes they are going to be using in this system that was proven in year 1 and 2 of CDD's tenure.

We have a lot of potential on the roster but how well will it fit the system? Devrin Young, Q Watson and Pig seem like guys that might benefit from it but other than that I dunno. If Peterman is what he is hyped up to be he is the perfect type if QB for this system because CBJ's system works best with a Tebow "lite" type player.

I think people underestimate how good of a QB we had with Bray. When Worley came in, he struggled to get the offense into the end zone after seeing Bray do it with ease against the same team. Hopefully we'll be okay, but someone needs to step up at QB in a big way.

I would take all three back.. New coach could change the attitude. The ones leaving has more talent than the ones taking over so if cbj can coach n a motivator would equal better chance at.winning.

Losing them just gives a percentage of the fan base the ability to say its ok to win 4 or 5 games next. One excuse we will hear....imo

I think you guys are nuts for being glad they are gone. I would like to have seen what the new staff could have done with them.

I won't miss Hunter droppin the ball or afraid to get hit. Won't miss the mental midget otherwise known as Tyler Bray. I will miss CP. He's a playmaker, and the extra year would do wonders for his draft stock. To bad he couldn't qualify academically!

Yes. I don't even know what you asked or what the thread is about, but I wanted to affirm that yes, you are in fact, the only one. :hi:
