We're going to a decent bowl no matter what happens going forward this year.

Fifth. Sixth. Seventh. Who cares? Fighting to be the tallest midget at this point.

There is a real possibility we go to a fairly middling bowl now. It’s been 20 years since we had a season worthy of putting us at one of the big six bowls and we are going to have to sit at the kid’s table again so Bama doesn’t get their feelings hurt after 15 consecutive trips.

And their is still a non-zero chance Bama makes it to the playoffs.

All we had to do was beat lowly SC.

Instead we got blown out because half the team didn't show up.

The Vols have nobody to blame but themselves here boys and girls. Whining about placement now is pretty pathetic. We didn't handle business so we are left with whatever scraps they give us. Such is life.

It is true that our players did not show up ready to play against USC. However, those players coming back next year will be able to lead the team next year and be ready in the same circumstances in the future. It is a part of developing the culture needed to succeed. The coaches and team learned a lot with that loss.

Dude,.I'm not arguing with you here. Trust me, you're preaching to the choir here.

Just saying what non Vol fans are saying, and I really can't disagree with them. We had the populace with us to get a CFP bid-but we dropped the ball. Nobody really blamed us too much for Georgia. The Lamecocks were just a bridge too far man, accept it.

Tennessee is the clear and undisputed #2 team in the SEC and if they were in the West they would be the division winner due to the first tie breaker which is head to head. But in polls people get to make their opinions more important than the actual results. Kind of a sick way to teach these young adults what life is really like but hey at least they prepare the student athletes for the real world. You know the world where opinions constantly supercede facts. Good job NCAA for buying into a system that in some f'd up way undoubtedly fulfills your mission statement.

We had the opportunity to win the east and didnt. If we are second in the East Division...how can we now proclaim we should have a chance at a do over?

LSU did what was required to win their divison/mini conference. Why demand more?

If they beat UGA are they SEC Champs or not?

The exact same scenario played out a few years ago and Bama won it all after losing the West to LSU.
