Gerrymandering would certainly effect a senate race. Come on people. Only a dolt wouldn't understand that.
Who is more likely to turn out to vote, a person in a tightly contested congressional election or a person that knows his preferred choice is going to win 90% to 10%?
You do realize that there are congressional races on the same ballot as senate races.........right?

Of course I do. I'll beak it down a little more.
In the 2018 election, state x has a senatorial election on the ballot along with every congressional seat. In the 13 congressional districts gerrymandering has created 7 congressional districts that historically have a 51-49 split. The other 6 districts have an average of a 90-10 split. In which districts is the incentive to vote highest? Incentive drives turnout.

People turn out for all types of elections, it depends on what is important to them. Which is exactly why my point is valid.
Of course gerrymandering effects statewide elections, because local (district) elections are always part of the ballot.
You understand it's a function of turnout, right?

Your understanding of gerrymandering is hurtful to the wingman Eric Holder. Gerrymandering is not an issue. Whoever is in power in the states draw the line. Dems were ok with this as long as they were doing it as evidenced by the 50 plus years the Democratic party controlled the House of Representatives. Once again Obama was right elections have consequences.
