The Democrats had the opportunity to repeal the Patriot Act and instead they reauthorized it. So it is now Obama's Patriot Act.

We will have to wait and see what the Republicans do with Obamacare when given the chance.

Like I was saying before, both sides do their share in disrupting freedom. And, yes, it will be interesting to see what the Republicans may do to potentially repeal the act. I think they're going to have to wait till at least 2013-2014 though to make a strong move.

Starbuck's is an interesting phenomenon in itself. A lot of liberal (and I don't necessarily mean Democrat) kids like to hang out there and discuss all that's wrong with the Western world, or at least that's the image we have of many people that go there. At the same time, Starbuck's is the epitome of capitalism and globalization. What makes it even more odd is the fact that the corporation came out of Seattle, which seems to have a fairly strong association with the whole anarchist/anti-capitalist/anti-World Bank/anti-WTO/anti-globalization crowd. Very strange space when one walks into a Starbuck's.

However, under what I think is the modern context, the Revolutionaries were rebels, not terrorists.

I don't have a problem with a group willing to fight for what they believe in, it's when they take that fight to blowing up civilians they become terroists.

Yep - I would add terrorism seeks to effect political change by terrorizing the civilian population by attacking them physically and mentally. Insurgency or rebellion seeks to effect political change by attacking the ruling group and its functionaries. IOW, it is about target and intent. Civilians may die in both.
