Not liking this song Scotty is singing. Some of the songs they do for the winners are so hokey!! Kelly Clarkson had one of the best ones ever!

That song by Lauren was nothing short of spectacular, regardless of what kind of music you like. She held it together singing to her mom. She's a performer with an amazing talent. Period. I am so proud of that little girl.

After tonight, I would vote for David Cook to beat both of them. However, Lauren wins imo.

I called the finale 8 weeks ago. My kids told me I was crazy. Lauren doesn't have the pipes (pretty voice yes but boring voice) never stretched her voice and never got real criticism for it. Scotty being in this finale is a joke. For years I hated that AI never had a real male country singer go very far. And when one does, it's a goofy acting cheeseball with no range, no vibrato and goes flat on every song he sings (once again while getting praise lavished on him no matter how crappy he did). Talent seldom wins out on AI. Haley sang the he!! out of every song she did, was never off key and did every kind of song imaginable. But all that being said I do believe Lauren and Scotty could have good careers, I just don't think either of them have the vocal maturity yet. But with all the money AI is going to be throwing at them in development (voice coaches choreographers and producers etc.) they will do well. While I think the judges critiques have been unbalanced and unfair and inconsistent. I will give them immense credit and respect for the group they picked for final 24. I think this was the most musically eclectic, versatile and talented group as a whole that AI has ever had.

1. it would be constructive criticism if they gave it to everyone equally. When they praise everyone else no matter how bad they were, but rip her incessantly for no other reason than they didn't like the damn song she chose it isn't constructive. She has the attitude of "give me a freakin break, what do I have to do".
2. I love to look at her every chance I get too.

Calling it now. McCheezy wins tonite. The stupid tweenager girls who have nothing to do but sit around and vote for two hours ruin yet another season...Caveat: If Boren didn't sway them with that awwwww my mommy:cray: song. At this point imo it's too late.

of course when you're looking through haley colored glasses, you're never going to find fault in anything she does....and she aint all that in the looks dept. either.

I think Lauren lost it, if for no other reason than the judges said she won the night. It's been this seasons theme if the judges single you out for praise you go home.

And the girl who sang You Oughta Know a few episodes ago could belt it out.

Thing is though can she write? The girl has a decent but not powerful (yet) voice. There are a million people out there that can sing as well as Lauren, but very few who can write. If Lauren is going to have a real career she better be a lot deeper than she appears to be. She seems dumb as a box of rocks. Same goes for Scotty. The difference is not a lot of guys have the smooth deeper quality to their voice, so he is more unique in that way. While I cannot stand to watch him on stage, I think as he gets older the vocal flaws that I talked about earlier will go away. They will probably both have decent careers, but that prediction goes way up if either can write.
