Obama was a lame duck because he was on the tail end of his second term by Feb 2016. The upcoming election was, therefore, inconsequential in this matter - unless he planned on not vacating the WH. Personally in my opinion seeing that Clinton was taking over the WH, any delay would have been risky business. The senate was in republican hands because a lot of the country didn't want anything else to do with obama and his continuing foolishness - to include another SC justice after the two clowns he'd just put there.

Once we compensate for the stolen seat, things can get back to "normal".

The balance of the senate has always been an issue because of the advice and consent thingy in the constitution. We perhaps should try and see to it that the same party does not control the two houses of congress and the WH simultaneously since we apparently will never rid ourselves of party politics. I will say in that respect that the GOP has never shown the lack of respect for the nation, governance, or the "democratic process" that the dems did when obama took over - the stimulus and obamaCare. And actually the dems "democratic process" showed real unfettered democracy for what it truly is - mob rule.

Damn, luther, the time doesn't matter. It's who holds the senate - this is simply a committee selecting or refusing to select a candidate for a job. The president nominates the candidate - the senate gives him or her the job if they see fit. It's just that simple.

No ot doesnt. You are already doing it. You mention Garlands 1 seat as stolen, but yet you call for 2 seats to be added. You arent "fixing a wrong". You are politicially weighing the situation so that it remains broke.

And you wont ever get to compensate for the "stolen" seat until you win the Senate.

Which takes us back to square 1. Nothing was stolen, you just need the senate. Hold the senate and you can start weighing the court back to your favor. First 5-4 then 6-3, 7-2. Because as you continually show it's not fixing but weighting. That you want.
