Another bad apple (George Floyd case)

Well this is the tone deafness of the right. The cities and government don't need to favor criminals or the cops. They need to be supporting justice. The police have enough friendly support from the government. At what point will justice be served?
You mean the justice that is the main culprit arrested and charged, but that apparently not being good enough

How many times before this was this same cop involved in nonsense? You see, this knife can cut both ways. We have no problem looking into the past of the victims of police crime, yet we seem to take issue with going into the pasts of these crooked azz cops for some reason.

Too little too late Walz. You've demonstrated yourself incapable of good leadership. This message is way too late.

If there was a basj
On a side note, how much more damage could these riots have done to the businesses that have already been shutdown for 2+ months because of the China Virus?
Really how naive are you or are you just playing coy. To begin with insurance premiums will rise drastically in said area, if a contractor doesn't feel safe or their insurance sees you are working in a said area those insurance cost rise. If you can't deduce the further implicit costs then well that's on you. I have tried hard to stay out of these arguments, but some are so disingenuous that it is a sad state of affairs. Ras my last two statements are not aimed at you completely, because I believe you may be goading some along. Let's hope everyone goes back to doing what they were doing a week ago.

Does "interesting" have 3 or 4 syllables? In my world it has 4, but I guess if you say it fast enough or with a country draw, it can have 3???
It was kind of a joke, you caught it. Maybe I need grammatical instruction, because I can give it 3 or 4 syllables.

What does it take to get the military involved? Last night showed local police and state police couldn’t keep order.
It looked like they did a decent job in Atlanta. Average people probably do not understand how liberal Minnesota is. They have a long history of left wing politics. The people who currently hold office there would probably rather watch their whole state burn to the ground than allow martial law to usurp their authority. In short, it would probably take armed insurrection to get the military involved there in the sense that I think you intend.

If this keeps up, martial law will be declared as soon as they have the numbers to enforce it. We've seen it before and in Minneapolis, 1934.

Then there is this:

H.R. 5122, John Warner National Defense Authorization Act

`Sec. 333. Interference with State and Federal law `The President, by using the militia or the armed forces, or both, or by any other :means, shall take such measures as he considers necessary to suppress, in a State, any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy, if it-- `(1) so hinders the execution of the laws of that State, and of the United States

Every profession has problematic people so I’m not sure what they are suppose to admit. If someone finishes at the top of their class in med school then ends up pedaling opioids you don’t know it until they do it. When a teacher with an impeccable record screws a 12 year old you don’t know they’re gonna do until they do it.

And then once they do it, it should be easy to denounce either of those people, no?

One area where the war on drugs has actually worked, and quickly is RX opioids. That whole industry had maybe about a 10 year life cycle before a lot of the same people who made it possible for pill mills to exist decided to walk it back. The problem is that heroin, fentanyl, and other garbage have filled the void. Marijuana decriminilization seems inevitable. I don't know what that means for the illegal pot industry, cause those people will not have a place in the legal marketplace.

I'm surprised at the lack of discussion on the autopsy findings rulling out strangulation as cause of death. Must be a coverup by the democrat mayor and democrat police chief.
If they don't put this guy in prison for murder they know the city won't be inhabitable for a few years. Sucks for him if it turns out he really didn't kill the guy according the the autopsy.

Given that the (preliminary) autopsy specifically mentioned police restraint as a cause of his death, that doesn’t really change anything

Autopsy cause of death police restraints, intoxicants in blood, underlying heart condition. No strangulation, which anyone with a high school level of biology would understand by watching the video. I'm thinking in layman's terms the guy had a self induced panic attack then heart attack. Cops should have rendered aid.

That’s not what “self-induced” means

No, it doesn’t. Look up the eggshell skull rule. You take your victim as you find him/her; if you restrain him but he has a condition that exacerbates the effects of said restraint, you’re still responsible for what happens
I never said they weren't responsible. They didnt render aid.

It seems to me there is a struggle going on internally with Minneapolis. A hands off approach but when enough damage is done to business and federal buildings are in danger business and federal government start to demand an answer/reaction. It seems the police and national guard have been deployed reluctantly. We'll see what happens from here out.

It is the result of electing weak minded local and state officials. Pacification isnt a great strategy.

But at least we subverted the usual process on the justice side. Because that really seemed to fix things.
