UGA’s defense wasn’t stopping Bama in the 4th. By going for it, you give Bama a short field to score whether by touchdown or field goal while leaving time on the clock for the offense.

The only reason Georgia had a shot at the end was because of that call. I don’t think I would have made that call but I get the calculus behind it.

At best, Bama kicks a field goal and UGA uses their timeouts and gets the ball back to drive half the field to tie for OT. At worst, they score a TD and you keep timeouts and one last drive to tie for OT.
