Another Georgia player arrested

You’re a master prosecuting attorney against Florida players but Johnny Cochran for the Tennessee guys.

Hernandez smacked a dude over a disputed bill at a restaurant. That was it. He had some bad mojo from the very beginning, no doubting that. But we have the benefit of hindsight. Tebow is all about forgiveness and redemption and resurrection. I wouldn’t characterize his trying to vouch for a 18 year old teammate as “stupid.” Hernandez was never charged or convicted of anything at UF. If every college-aged kid were arrested and convicted of being mouthy or taking a swing at someone, most of America would be convicts.

Same with Zach Smith at UF, again, you’re applying different standards. You commented favorably that Bryce Thompson was never charged or convicted, but fail to mention that Zach was never charged or convicted for any incident at UF. He got into a dispute with his wife, she accused him of slinging her against a wall by the shirt, he denied it. The cops came, arrested and booked him. He continued to deny, the case was eventually dropped.

Benefit of hindsight, Hernandez had some serious demons, but it’s tough to project an 18 year-old kid as an eventual murderer based off smacking a waiter over a bill. We now know Zach Smith is a complete slimeball. He was a GA for 3 years at UF. Nobody’s shutting the program down (hyperbole) over a young, dumb GA with an anger management issue in a volatile relationship.
Tim Tebow vouched for Aaron Hernandez's character while at Florida? Really? Wow, I hadn't heard that story before. Interesting.

I hadn’t heard it either, especially the “begging to keep him on the team” part. But hey, I gave the poster the benefit of the doubt because I’m a kinder, gentler poster.

There are many many reasons to hate Florida, but something tells me the “Tebow is a crappy human being” angle wont have legs.

No, not at all... but I can see anyone misjudging a teammate's character. It's easy to think you know a teammate that you aren't friends with, better than you really do. I highly doubt Tebow and Hernandez ever associated with each other outside of the football related activities.

Ped State does not claim Sandusky either. Not claiming does not mean they were not there.

Sandusky spent 30+ years at Penn State as a key cog on the staff and the Defensive Coordinator for many of those years. Zach Smith was an obscure Graduate Assistant for a couple years at UF. Sandusky was convicted of raping young men and boys in the shower and other places, using his position to gain access and lure them. Zach Smith and his wife had a rocky marriage, and one night she says he flung her against a wall by her shirt. A charge later dismissed.

Surely you see the difference.

Don't call me Shirley. You claimed that you didn't claim him. Now you say he WAS there.

I never said he wasn’t there. But I did say we don’t claim him. Any idea who UT’s GA’s were 11-14 years ago?

Exactly.

Jake Fromm state farm is faker than Jonathan Moxon’s accent.
I watched that movie for the first time the other day since around the time it came out. I had totally forgotten about them going to the strip club to find their teacher was a stripper, then partying and drinking with her all night, then playing the following night hung over. And they were like 16-18 years old, with the crazed parents nowhere to be found. Hilarious

That movie is a classic. I had a Spanish teacher that was a Carolina Panthers cheerleader. As you can imagine, it was almost every heterosexual males (like how I qualified that) high school dream to have an NFL cheerleader as their teacher. After a bunch of us went to the movie we’d see her in the hall or something and go “Ms. Pender will you go to prom with me?” The way Billy Bob asked out the teacher in Varsity Blues. She had seen the movie, knew what we were doing and thought it was funny . We’d probably be expelled for sexual harassment or some BS today.

Obviously violence against women is a bad thing, and nobody condones that. Several of these recent Georgia arrests have had females involved. I know you share my outrage over this, right?

I’m disappointed over anything bad that happened while Meyer was at Florida, but I sure do appreciate the Championships.

And I’m certainly not willing to give them up, no more than you’d be willing to give up any and all titles won under Phillip Fulmer where he recruited just as many questionable characters into the organization as Urban Meyer ever dreamed of? And before you shoot back about how much worse Meyer was/is than Fulmer, remember, Google is a thing and Fulmer had some real doozies.
lol didn't UF have like 5 players arrested for beating women last year with one rape? Glass houses and what not. As for culture, at least we haven't had any serial killers like a certain school... Didn't Mullen also accept a player that was on video beating a woman at MSU? Seems like a trend at this point.

On a positive note:
"It’s the FIRST public arrest of the new year for coach Kirby Smart’s football team, which is expected to compete for a championship in 2020."

A Florida comes on and disses uga by pointing out yet another arrest in that trash program?

Personally, I’m ok with that.
