You are right, Hamas will either have to be disbanded or completely change their philosophy (which I do not believe will happen). Playing both sides of the fence hasnt been tried yet, so why not?
That has been one of the goals for the past 8 years on and off to get both sides to come to compromises that will ultimately culminate in peace but with every step forward there is an attack that sets every thing back two steps. The biggest problem now is that the country is divided with to groups wanting power. Whatever deal you make with one will not suit the other.

I fail to see how this is an issue. Saying that the United States should be more even handed in its Middle Eastern policy is not being Anti-Semitic. Sympathizing with the "Palestinian cause" is not being Anti-Semitic. I see more problems with constantly setting the guy up as a straw man than I do with Obama who has on many occasions spoken openly and honestly and paid the price in our PC political system that values dishonesty and pandering.
i'm not saying being sypathetic to palestine is anti-semitic. it's the people he is hanging out with AGAIN who are anti-semitic. these are people that have openly said that isreal should be run off the face of the earth and blame jews for all of our problems in america and abroad. obama's preacher is another anti-semitic guy. if obama isn't anti-semitic why does he hang out with all these people? surely he must know their views.
over the past 8 years do you really believe we were playing both sides of the fence?
Thats been the problem since the first day.
I do believe that was the ultimate goal to get both sides to compromise until some consensus was reached. We had to push Israel to concede what they did. The Palestinians have gained and given very little.
