Do you keep up with the politics of Guam, American Samoa, Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands or other U.S. Territories? What does this have to do with U.S. politics or political parties?

No, was just in the local paper and saw it there. Orlando has one of the largest Puerto Rican populations in the world, is probably why it was in the Sentinel.

Puerto Rico?

and this has what relevance exactly?

He was a national party leader.

Really, I was primarily giving the moral values guys on here -- like NEOCON, or OE, or sjt -- a chance to prove that they are not party-driven and would condemn the homosexuality of the gentleman. I actually haven't had a chance to review any of their responses.

Tell me, did they criticize his homosexuality or just blast Democrats, instead?

The redistribution of wealth and the entire idea of fairness/justice requires just as much moral indignation as a Christian who hates homosexuals. Both parties believe their line of reasoning to be true because that is all they have ever been taught. Some from idiot college professors and some from idiot preachers. Some from both at the same time.

QFT - Both parties attempt to legislate morality and regularly violate the tenets of the morality they seek to promote.

If he's a sanctimonious bag of crap, sure.

Like Pelosi's promise to run the cleanest House ever...

Or maybe like Obama's promise of transparency... or maybe Clinton's bald faced lie about not having sex with Monica... or maybe Barney Frank's various positions regarding Fannie and Freddie... or Geitner on taxes... Charlie Rangel...?

The list goes on and on.

The difference is that the left excuses and rationalizes for their "sanctimonious bags of crap" while conservatives toss theirs out on their ear... all while liberals condemn them for being too "puritanistic".

So does Lawgator have a problem with gays or Puerto Ricans?

Neither. My problem is with, not just hypocrites, but hypocrites in leadership positions specifically on morality telling people what they can and cannot do, pretending to be righteous, and then turning out themselves to be pretty debaucherous.

Oh, here you go then...

He has a right to be homosexual or whatever he wants. He was demonstrated a fraud/liar and appears to be on his way out because of it. It sounds like justice is being served by constituents who actually believe in the standards they elect people to represent.

Why would I "criticize" his homosexuality? I disagree with the morality of it... while COMPLETELY respecting the right of someone to make that choice.

Sort of like rich liberals who do not pay everything they make in taxes while demanding that taxes go up on others? Like Buffett who supports Dems because they do more to "level the playing field" who does not periodically level the playing field between himself and everyone else by giving away his assets and starting from nothing? Like liberal politicians and others who rant about climate change then wastefully use air and motorized transportation... or own mansions with the carbon footprints of Gore's?

For what it is worth, I agree that if the man does not match the message he should not try to lead. No one is perfect. Everyone has a past. But leaders should be consistent with what they say.

If you want to talk about hypocrisy... the left will lose big time.

You can teach that homosexuality is immoral... and a choice... that deserves no special state sanction/endorsement while completely respecting the Constitutional right of someone to live that way.

You cannot redistribute wealth without taking the property of someone else.

When you named the thread you called him a republican as did the newspaper. Puerto Rico has three political parties, none of which is called republican.

I believe your only reason to post this was to slam republicans (again).

or maybe Clinton's bald faced lie about not having sex with Monica.

Because claiming WMDs in another country is most definitely not treacherous... especially when it leads to the death of thousands of americans.

But let's impeach him on account of a ****job.

Classic Americana....
