I'm no Bush supporter by any means. I voted for the man, but it was purely for lack of any alternative whatsoever and his tax reductions. (I viewed both Bush votes as votes against complete morons.)
You voted the supreme moron into office:)

I think even if I was a conservative I would take democratic socialism (which I assume is what you are talking about in saying "what we are headed for") over an oligarchy.

What is it that was said about absolute power?

Democratic socialism.......... LOL!

That is absolute power.......

Really? The fine people of Sweden would probably disagree with you.

you don't see a difference in the small, homogeneous population of Sweden and the US?

This is like all the people crying about bandwidth issues in the US and pointing to Japan as an example.

Man, I generally don't have a problem with you, but you really enjoy putting words in my mouth lately

You are voting for Obama.... he is the one who wants to change our society.......

:eek:k:

I love you brother, I can't stand Obama!

Let's put it this way, I am a firm believe that the general consumer doesn't understand the principle of supply and demand. Without something to check businesses eventually greed takes over. I don't think the government is perfect, obviously, but without something there who governs the market? Gas is high, so people bitch but they don't do anything about it. So who does?

Oh I do, I just don't see why everyone always says no form of socialism ever works. There is at least one example.

I know this, and I am not upset, but looking at it realistically, Obama isn't going to change this country into a completely socialist society. He knows that, I know that, you know that.

The argument is lifestyle and freedom.....

Our system is the best the world has ever seen and why in the world would we want to bring socialism into the mix?

if the general pop is so dumb then who is there to check the gov't? Personally I'd rather leave it in the people's hands because corps don't hide the fact they're greedy, politicians try to.

I believe that is the fundamental difference between most of you guys and me.

He will try his hardest with control of congress......

The people will not stand for the change, where he will force it is with the appointments to the bench.

I read the man's books and I have never been more depressed in my life.

Relatively speaking it is not. Milk is higher per gallon. What do you think is more difficult to do? Get oil from the ground thousands of miles away, refine and distribute it. Or get milk from a cow in America and distribute it?

There are already socialist ideals present in our system. The system is also constantly changing, which is the beauty of it. It adapts to the times.

Then plug in milk for gas. It is the same principle

What principle? That because our system is so great, anything we want for the most part is at the corner store and accessible for a price. Horrible system. Mainly, the problem is we are spoiled.
