Except he is concerned about who his boss will be, according to Hubbs. Not sure I would like the hire at all, but this underscores the fact that Cheek needs to come out and really support Hamilton and make sure prospective candidates know his head is not immediately on the chopping block.

I would take grant in a second. I like the way his team plays defense.

I definitely agree with that; however, if Frank is actually in play, he would be leaps and bounds ahead of Grant on my list.

The UT AD wouldn't make the decision quickly (to hire a Grant-like candidate) if they know bigger names are in play. Quite a few coaches will say "no" before we hire Grant.

I like Grant for several reasons:

1. I never have an objection to ticking Alabama off.
2. His team ranked 8th in the country this year on points allowed. Defense is critical.
3. No team scored more than 83 on them.
4. Shaka Smart is winning with his players he recruited.
5. He seems to recruit well (Brought in several 4*'s to Alabama)

But I haven't seen enough of him to say that I want him as our coach just yet. But I agree, he is very up and coming. But for those that want a younger coach, he is 44 years old.

I like Anthony Grant. He is young enough to relate to recruits yet has alot of experience. VCU (Smart) is winning with the players that Grant recruited. He was the assistant at Florida when they won NCs and knows the SEC unlike a hire from mid-west or Boston. I think he would be very successful here.

Grant doesn't have a long track record as a head coach--only has two NCAA tournament teams.
