Alright. Just wondering what the reasoning was. For the record, I'd be happy with either one, although I like Marshall a bit better.

Unless a guy like Turgeon surprises everyone and takes the job, I think most folks in the coaching profession are assuming Marshall is the guy.

I think we should put Grant's mind a ease by firing Hamilton now and introducing Holloway as the new AD. We can do it all at one big press conference.

I'm not a fan of Marshall but as a long time Vols fan I will support him if he is the guy. Heck if Barney Rubble is the guy I will support him. Hat do you see an name not already mentioned to get some play or Marshall gets it because it won't drop any further?

The idea that you think you can pass off any of this to be true shows a true lack of respect to your audience's intellect. Kiffin was the only hire anyone could have made on 12/1/08.

If you were the AD, you would have been thrown out on your ass if you hired one of the other big names at the time (Turner Gill, Brent Venables, or Tim Brewster) over Lane, Monte, and Orgeron.

I know you've been a fan, but are you at all concerned by the fact that he hasn't made the NCAA tournament or even won the conference at Wichita state yet?

Maybe I am missing something. How the hell does anyone lead when there's not been a single interview? Lead?

Hell I'd be pissed if any decision was made before the tournament is over.

I like Grant and think it would be an outstanding hire!! Someone reminded us earlier that he was on his way to UF had BD not changed his mind.

I will go one step further. The tennessean gave a list of best AVAILABLE coaches when the Tennessee job came open, and Kiffin headed the list. It called him the best hire, but will not come cheap. The kiffin hire was Great at first glance IMO.

I think Grant would be a great hire because he preaches defense and hustle. Also, I hate Alabama and want to steal Grant away.

Thanks for that opinion. This is college athletics, rivalries are a big part of it. There are plenty of coaches out there who don't coach at one of our biggest rivals. I'm sure we can find one.

Did I say we would suck if Saban was here? That has nothing to do with what I said. I think we would be do pretty well. But I would also feel like I sold my soul for a NC. I'm sure Urban Meyer could win us a championship too. But I don't care how attractive you are, once you've been in bed with Alabama or Florida you're dirty to me.

(Assistant coaches don't count :))
