Anti-Trump Hysteria and Silliness

Retired 4 star General Stanley McChrystal speaking to ABC's "This Week" said that President Donald Trump is immoral and dishonest and that he could not work for him. "I don't think he tells the truth." McChrystal said. When asked by ABC's Martha Raddatz if Trump was a liar, McChrystal responded, "I think he is."

A veteran of the U.S. Army for more than three decades, McChrystal led all international forces in Afghanistan from June 2009 through June 2010 before former President Barack Obama relieved him of his duties following a "Rolling Stone" interview in which McChrystal made comments critical of his administration... which were roundly praised by Republicans.

"What I would ask every American to do is ... stand in front of that mirror and say, 'What are we about?' Am I really willing to throw away or ignore some of the things that people do that are - are pretty unacceptable normally just because they accomplish certain other things that we might like?" McChrystal said of Trump supporters.

He added: "If we want to be governed by someone we wouldn't do a business deal with because their - their background is so shady, if we're willing to do that, then that's in conflict with who I think we are. And so I think it's necessary at those times to take a stand."

McChrystal also said, that if asked to do so, he would reject an offer to work in the Trump administration. "I think it's important for me to work for people who I think are basically honest, who tell the truth as best they know it."

At the end of the interview, McChrystal added that he does not believe that ISIS has been defeated. "I don't believe that ISIS is defeated. I think ISIS is as much an idea as it is a number of fighters. There is a lot of intelligence that says there are actually more ISIS fighters around the world now than there were a couple of years ago. It is a very foolish and dangerous thing for a leader to claim victory over an ideology... such recklessness will only empower them."

The last one to die, little 8 year old boy, had the flu. The 1st one, little girl, died from dehydration.
I kinda looked into this, the 7 year old girl had dehydration and the 8 year old was septic. Neither of those conditions developed while in custody for 8 hours. Seems like they were present before their capture.
I don’t recommend bringing children hundreds of miles in the dessert. They are made of 70% water where adults are around 60%. They can look ok until they decompensate. Blaming anyone other than the parents for this is ridiculous.

Thanks for the update. I posted from my snail memory I heard a couple of days back from FoxNews.

It was quite a bit different when it was played on Fox News today. Be that as it may, that was an epic meltdown by the guy behind the counter. My guess is he has a few mental issues that he needs help with in order to be out in public. It makes me want to go out in public with my Mark Dice "Trump 2020" tee-shirt with my Mark Dice "Liberalism: Find a Cure" hoodie. If you don't know who Mark Dice is you're a liberal.

The one with JFK wearing a MAGA hat ? 😁

I’m wondering why I care about someone who has been out of theatre for 9 years ? Then I’m wondering why he’s talking about a hypothetical job offer......lots of questions from the reporter that require us to produce connectivity that’s not there. This is an article with no substance.

I see a lot of substance. This is a 4 star General with just as many accolades as others that Trump has hired (Flynn, Kelly, McMaster and Mattis). Basically, he is saying that Trump is a liar. He is also disputing Trump's claim that ISIS has been defeated while also calling such an assertion "foolish and dangerous".

We’re you as big a fan of his Rolling Stone interview that openly mocked Barry Hussein? I’d guess you were calling for his head then.

Also I’d like to pose the question to Stan of “Trump or Hills pick one”

Np, I’m sure you don’t have snail memory either. Pediatrics was a favorite of mine in nursing school.

I'll be at the computer w/the TV on in the background & hear things on the news sometimes not paying too much attention to it at all.
Then I get on here a few days later & someone asks a question about something that happened & I respond only from the short memory (not very clear) that I have from a couple of days ago.

he thinks trump is a liar, ok. Defeating the ideology of extremism is a farce. Knew that years ago.
So this is where we differ, this is an opinion piece. I guess I just don’t see much substance to this.

It’s easy enough to see slant vs real journalism these days. I’m tired of opinion pieces as they are usually slanted one way or another,
This isn't the opinion of a journalist. It's the opinion of a retired 4 star Army General who was Commander of the U.S. Forces in Afghanistan... and is he wrong? I mean, can you make an argument for Trump being an honest person?

Nope. Nor is Hillary, Nancy, Chucky, Billy, Barry, Georgie, (just about) all politicians. What else is new? Shucks, even McChrystal is a liar. (Pat Tillman, ring a bell?) He sure didn't have kind things to say about Obama, (who he voted for) Biden, Ambassador Eikenberry, or Richard Holbrooke. McChrystal's got some track record. He has balls, I like it.

Trump's a liar, now there's a surprise.

So now are we going to go down the road arguing who is the biggest liar and about what? OK, let's go!

Emotional nonsense. Drivel.

All of these high ranking ex-military that are in front of the cameras criticizing the current administration are either part of the deep state or trying to become a part of it.

McChrystal is supposed to be highly respected and Mike Flynn is called a traitor by a judge?

Are only anti-Trump Generals, Admirals, etc to be respected?

Stinks to high heaven IMO.

That is hilarious. McChrystal was very critical of Obama as well... and Republicans loved him for it.

Also, absolutely nothing that McChrystal said was guided by emotions. It was measured and based on his observations... unless of course, you would like to dispute that ISIS is an ideology or that Trump is a liar?
