Maymon looks like he's dropped some weight.
I've heard reports of him being in better shape than before had surgery. He's been able to do a lot more with rehab and has more flexibility with what he can and can't do. Maymon has said himself that he feels like he's a better player.

That's scary! He averaged 12 points the season before if he's better now I seriously think we will have an amazing season.

Who are our backup guards? You need /at least/ three guards with good overall skills to be a contender. Louisville last year had at least four. And a swing man isn't a guard.

That's not necessarily true. There were multiple teams who made the elite 8 that didn't have 2 point guards that played.

We've got multiple wing-type players (guys who can shoot the midrange to long range shot) but point guards we're limited.

PG: Antonio Barton, Darius Thompson
Wings: McRae, Richardson, D'montre Edwards, Quinton Cheivous, Derek Reese, Robert Hubbs, and sometimes Armani Moore.

We've got the depth.

The question will be coming out of the gate this season, 'Did Martin learn anything last season?'
Did he learn to use what he's got?
He has the horses to run a high octane transition game.
Or will we see the early slow down half court like we started with last season?

I agree. I hope we see the more up-tempo pace we saw us be successful using last year. I do think however, having both Maymon and Stokes in the paint will allow us to be more effective if/when we do slow it down. Barton, Thompson, and McRae can hopefully keep defenses honest too.

Maymon + Stokes = power ball.

Sort of the same logic as when you have a great OL in football, you use the power running game. Can't really be stopped if you have the horses.

If one of then added a midrange shot to their game they will litteraly be unstoppable and I think Maymon did.

Always thought Maymon could shoot a little bit. If its consistent then this will open up a lot of players

As BTO mentioned, Maymon's been working on his shot for a good while now.

I think we'll see a more balanced game this year. We'll slow it down when we need to and pick up the pace when we need to. I could see us using the half-court tempo against faster teams (Florida, KY) and more of an up-tempo against teams like Virginia. Just my thoughts anyways.

Yeah we'll be a very versatile team this year.

I hope you're right, but they've been fairly locked in to a particular style of play in the past. It will definately be a change to add variety.
There will be early calls for the coach's decapitation if he begins the season wasting the talents of McRae, Barton and Hubbs in a snail ball scheme.
I don't expect it though.

I don't disagree on the unrest prediction, but if CCM doesn't demand they play "inside out" then he's not going to get the most out of the lineup.

Most every time down the floor that's not a fast break, Maymon and/or Stokes should have a touch before anyone takes a shot. I don't know of a roster that can match UT's muscle on the blocks.
