Anxiety Dreams

Also, I've had a dream where my highschool football coach comes up and tells me that (even though I'm nearly 30) I can play in tonight's game if I go get my pads on in the locker room. I go to the locker room and suit up, but on the way out to the field, I misplace my helmet. I spend the whole game looking for my helmet. Never find it.

Ha, I've had the same type dream, where I'm getting ready to play a high school football game even though I'm way past that. I'm supposed to go in and there is a stoppage of play or something like that, and the game never starts again. Or a few times I had to run back to the locker room for something, and when I get back to the field the stadium is empty.

Sleep paralysis...Thank god that mystery is solved. I will have that from time to time, and yes, it is terrifying. I hear strange voices in the room, and feel like there is an intruder or something.

I notice that it happens if I fall asleep on my back and was told that it's referred to as "the witches riding you." So, I could see why people who have sleep apnea experience it.

I have lucid dreams all the time too. I often dream that I die for some reason, and in the dream I lay there pretending I'm dead. Nobody notices that I'm actually still alive in the dream...Makes sense right?

I have had the "too old to be here" type of dreams, usually something like high school or basic training. The dreams that bother me though are epic war dreams. I am usually just observing, but it will be an all out air war above my home with planes falling out of the sky and crashing all around me. I have had this kind of dream for what seems like forever.

Then there are the nuclear war dreams. For these it is usually dark and I see the sky just streaking with missiles on their way to Russia. Then come the sirens and I wait for the return strike and usually the skies turn reddish for some reason and I feel myself being vaporized. Fun huh?

Thankfully those are rare occurrences at this point, but they stick with me for a while when I have them.

I had a horrible dream a couple of weeks ago, and it made me think I might have sleep apnea. In the dream I was in an abandoned and condemned house in the mountains. I kept seeing glances of this figure walking through the halls but could never get a good look at him. I followed him around a corner and as I rounded the corner, he spontaneously manifested behind me and started choking me from behind. I couldn't breath, but right before I woke up I jerked around to see the figure. He was a giant (7' tall or more) with a huge bunny rabbit head where his head should be. That's when I woke up in a real panic. Freaked me the hell out. But in real life, my pulse was racing and I was really gasping to catch my breath. Scared the crap out of me.

My recurring anxiety dream is that I need to protect friends and/or loved ones from villains, but my punches have no power. I put everything into them, and it's like I'm under water or something.

Worst lucid dream I've had is I dreamed about 10 years ago I was back at my parents home and I think I was supposed to be a teenager again. A gunman was loose in the neighborhood and I was supposed to leave. I ran to my neighbors house and hid behind the AC unit, looking out in the street. I hear something behind me and the guy is behind me with the gun against my head and he pulls the trigger. I hear a blast and I slump over over the unit and I wake up in the same position in bed with a headache.

I have dreamed over the years about getting shot, and the guy who shoots me is always named Jason. Never see his face, but I always know his name. I've had this like 4 times, but its weird.

I've had a powerless punch dream several times. So helpless feeling. Lol .

Now this is one I've had, powerless punches.

Edit: I see we're not the only ones.

I had a dream I was in Saved By The Bell.

The weirdest dream I've ever had involved Selena Gomez, a tree, insurance, and archery.

I don't have the powerless punches dream but I do have dreams where I have a gun that I have to use and it either keeps jamming or no bullets.

I also have dreams where I'm with a group of people and something bad is about to happen, like a tornado or bad people coming or even a zombie invasion. But no one will listen to me. A few I'm literally cursing out family members to get then to take me seriously.

Physcially awake? I've read about where people wake up, but the mechanism that keeps them from moving doesn't turn off. So they lay there but are essentially paralyzed

My Mamaw used to say that was a hag holding ya down..

Another from the "Only me" dream file. I'll occasionally dream I'm at the stadium in the restroom at a urinal. Then, since I'm aware that I'm dreaming, the thought hits me "this isn't right. Nobody dreams about taking a piss. Wake up immediately?!"

I have dreamed that before when I was drunk..

I've had dreams where I'm at some really weird place that's all grungy and dark and I have to pee really bad. There's a lot of bathrooms everywhere but either somebody is using the toilet, there's just a hole in the floor and the toilets missing or the one I find is so nasty I can't use it. I then wake up and go to the bathroom to pee.

Sound like some peeps he interviews bout the end times.. Yea he's good entertainment I stopped listening bout 12-13 years ago..

Ah, ok. It was probably due to watching stuff like "The Day After" and having a wild imagination.
