Any chance McBee's scholly gets pulled?

McBee will stay on schollie and make some key shots for us next year because, as has been already stated, the offense Coach Zo runs will allow him to set up for the open catch and shoot. His stroke was starting to come around at the end of the year anyway. I agree on one thing - that mop of hair has got to go!

On the other hand I do hope Coach Zo's sons are not college age yet...

Say what you want about McBee, but talk about not endearing yourself to the fanbase. If Martin were to do that, the local yokles would run him out of town.

since we pay him to coach basketball, one could only hope.

They paid Pearl to coach basketball but yet Mcmiss didnt get any better,he was a foul, turnover or a blow by waiting to happen,Hopson cant dribble and it blew me away the Pearl never worked on ball handling or had someone to work on it with Hopson.
Mcmiss isnt going to thrive in any system. If Martin can keep Jone,Ware,Hopson and Harris then you can bet the farm Mcmiss will NOT see the floor.

No one really had a career style year this year. I'm willing to give the guy a mulligan for the year.

Specifically to McBee though, the only way to get someone like McBee open is to keep everyone moving within the offense. However, the offense stood around until 10 secs on the shot clock were left all year. There is no way this guy was going to have a successful year this year. We didn't have a point guard to dish because our PG's were too busy trying to score.

I know this may be the unpopular opinion, but if the guy can get his head on straight, I like him to be that 6th man style shooter who can come off the bench to relieve either guard in a motion style offense.

Like it or not, McBee has more heart than just about anyone on that roster and it showed all year, he may have not hit 3's all the time but he never gave up when nearly everyone else already had. He wants to play for Tennessee and has earned the right to do so, lay off him... we need more players with his heart.

while true, CM only shot 7 3's in his first 2 years. He had to develop the shot to change his game. I've never heard that McBee has troubles while in practice but he just can't take it to the games.

While true, I was ignoring that fact for the sake of my argument. Hopefully the fact that he was able to go from essentially never shooting them to nearly 50% will translate fairly well into getting someone who already shoots to shoot better.

Classless to pull the kids scholly. now Cuonzo could inform the kid he will never play for him and put the decision if Mcbee would want to transfer to a lower tier program or he will watch Tennessee from the bench.

lol, cause that'll sound better :)

"Kid, you suck, so you'll be watching the game from a very comfy seat next to real athletes for the rest of your career. Or you can transfer."

Nobody can shoot consistently if you play limited minutes and shoot 1-3 times per game. He either needs to sit, or get 6-8 shots a game.

the only way the scholarship would be pulled is if we actually had a better recruit coming in. i seriously doubt we hit our scholarship limit for this upcoming year saying that we lost 5 seniors, possibly harris, and an outside chance of losing hopson. no way we sign that many recruits

There are going to be a lot of posters who are going to be wondering what possibly happened when McBee has a solid season next year. Our offense was horrible at getting open looks from the 3-point line. And depending on how the roster looks he might have to play more minutes than he did this season. Now, I am not claiming he is a stud that is about to explode onto the scene. He did not translate his tremendous 3pt accuracy from practice into games last year. That is a permanent problem? Not always, I think it was more caused by him not getting open looks with his feet set through good offense and him not getting consistent minutes to get into rhythm. Now if our roster adds guys like Jones, Ware, Richardson and Hopson stays then he might not see the floor. Still a lot of unknowns at this point.

Well I guess you can put Tatum's name on the list of people who get their scholarship pulled because he sure as hell didn't do anything special down the stretch. Damn, why do some people have to be ignorant?

Didn't think this was a serious thread....some seem to think it is.

Why would they pull his scholarship? He is going to be a junior for the upcoming season. Not going to happen.
