Anyone think that we can pull off a 50 point game Saturday??

Memphis is ranked 18th in Passing Defense, not ranked in the Top 50 in Run Defense (Neither is Tennessee), and not ranked in the Top 50 in Total Defense (Neither is Tennessee).

So other than me, does anyone else think we can hit the 50 point plateau that hasn't been hit at UT in over 6 years??

Memphis D-line is weak, we will dominate up front, hopefully picking up the blitz won't be a problem. Memphis is running a 4- 3 base defense, very basic. We should kill them on the ground and torch them through the air. Their All Star Safety is hurt, but will play. I am already hearing alot excuses about this and that, so they expect to lose they just don't want to get totally embarrassed. their ranking on pass defense is attributed to they haven't played many passing teams, so far. Ole Miss killed them on the ground. UT Chatt - enough said, and East Carolina came back, so the stat with a top pass defense is skewed !

We will win a lot of game if we can keep scoring 30. But, 50would be nice.

These kind of threads make me nervous about the game. Now I'll look for it to be close.

You're probably pretty safe. I don't think there has been a 50 point game since 2003.

I only see 35 or so, and I would be happy with that. I would not be shocked if we put up 42.

50 is not far fetched, and the thing about it is that Tennessee doesn't need an A+ performance to get it. Lamarcus Coker should have 250 yards rushing easy. Hardesty can have 150 + rushing if he hit the hole running. EA could throw for 300 + and Crompton should throw for 200 +

PS Marshall plays Memphis and expect Marshall to score 40.

If you look at the history of the Memphis games they are all pretty close and never 50. I think one year it was like 32-48 but at one point it was like 38-32. We led off the game 28-7 or something of the sort and they came back. I like us for mid 30's but or D is still a ?, just my humble opinion. That and twenty bucks will get you $19 of gas at the Pilot.:)

250 yards easy? We haven't had a back run for 250 since Chuck Webb in 1989. I'd expect and be happy with 100 yards for Coker, maybe 170 - 200 as a team, and Ainge throwing for 220 or so.

If we perform as you describe above, we'd have at least 400 yards rushing, and at least 500 passing, for a grand total of at least 900 yards of total offense.

If that's the formula and the yardage, we'd probably score 150 points . . .

I'll just settle for a solid performance from both lines, and a victory.

Once again, I love the enthusiasm. But those number would be tough on playstation.

Coker gets an "easy" 250.

Can we? Yes
Will we? No

Right on. I think the game will be similar to the Marshall game. It will be close for awhile but we'll eventually pull away. For Memphis, its more then just a game. Its beating up the better looking, more athletic, gets all the girls, rich kid on your block that you hear way too much about all year long. They're gonna play us very tough. And you know theyre talking about their previous victory in Memphis against us.

Guys let me assure you that Memphis is just that bad ! Memphis is trying to figure out a way to stop the bleeding.

So you're going to stick by that prediction that our freshman backup QB is going to throw for 200?

That would be approx. 900+ yards of total offense. I don't know what you have been smokin' on, but it must be some good stuff.

ok ok , Crompton may not throw for 200 and Hardesty may not run for 150 so let's deduct 350 yards, so that means we will have 550 yards of total offense !

Also I had a Cuban Cigar from Miami .

I love the enthusiasm... I just don't see it happening.

I'd like to think the final score would be similar to the Marshall final score, but that just doesn't seem to be the case for the Vols against Memphis.

If we don't blow Memphis away, then we're in serious trouble !
