Any news on Paul Harris?

Just because you don't get a report on every single player doesn't mean they're slacking or a bust. We're going to have play makers all across the board this year. What's scary is that once these Freshmen figure it out it's gonna be ugly for opposing defenses. So looking forward to seeing our boys do that damn thing this year. GoVols!!!

Saw another article on Harris dropping more passes? Not good

Paul Harris = Matt Million.

I know he is a freshman but this sounds so familiar!

He probably just needs more time to develop and adjust to the speed of the SEC. Physically he looks like he could be a great WR for us. CBJ preaches consistency so my guess is he just isn't consistent enough yet to get reps against the FLs and UGAs of the world.

@Vol_Football: JONES: I'm extremely encouraged by our freshmen wide receivers. I'm really excited about the whole freshmen class. They are the foundation.

The WHOLE FRESHMAN CLASS. Thanks for posting that.

I think Harris is a big talent and will produce. It's probably just that the roster ahead of him is full at the moment. Marquez and Pig certainly aren't going to see much time on the bench. He will get his eventually...but the sooner the better.

Matt Millen, not Million.

I think that guys name was Milton. He was like 6'5 and really athletic but never really made it to the field. Sometimes these kids are hard to predict. Why couldn't this kid get out there. Kinda like Bowles right now. What the hell is wrong with the guy. He was a Espn top 150.

He's already played, so he won't be redshirting.

He only played a few snaps in the first 3 games though, so if he doesn't see the field again I believe there would still be the possibility of red shirting.

Randolph red shirted last year and played significantly more snaps. Croom and Blanc also played a bit and redshirted.

Calvin Johnson 2.0
I am really glad Paul is on this team, and regardless of whether you were being snarky in that comment, he could be a real playmaker for us at some point. I, too have been hoping he and Croom would show up this season. Can't teach the 6'4" size and speed he possesses.

I still say, emphatically, that we NEED to be using our size advantage more. The Detroit Lions have Calvin Johnson (obviously), and needed a No. 2 to step up and take some of the double teams off of him. Looks like they found their guy, this weekend. They GOT THEIR 6'7 ROOKIE (UCLA) WR INVOLVED and he simply went off! You don't know what you really have until you play the kids.

This is completely irrelevant. Fauria is a TE and got 3 red zone TDS but hardly any yards. Megatron was extremely limited coming off of an injury.

They had injuries. He does not. You can only redshirt after playing if you suffer a season-ending injury after playing in less than 30% of your team'a games.

It's totally relevant. Fauria was used as a WR...not a TE. On which of those TD's was he lined up next to the OT? Hmmm?

You could say Croom is a TE, then...but he is not. The NFL is starting to regularly utilize TE/WR hybrids like Jimmy Graham (Saints), J. Finley (Green Bay), Gronkowski (Pats) to leverage their size LINED UP AT THE WR POSITION...to create a tangible mis-match.

When you have 6'4" - 6'5" WR's, you got that mismatch...and don't have to rely on hybrid type guys to do it. We aren't even trying to use our WR size to create mismatches. That's what is so frustrating. You recruit these type of guys for this very reason, and then the staff doesn't even try to utilize their size advantage.

They'd rather try to throw fades to our smallish WR's (Pig, J. Johnson and yes, and Josh Smith)

The receiver's name was Matt Milton, however I was correcting another's post about an NFL General Mgr, Matt Millen, who he called Matt Million.

You are aware that Milton was a QB in high school, right?

He's played very little, well within the limits to be eligible for a redshirt. If they want to medically redshirt him, he'll "develop" a high ankle sprain or something at some point. Red shirting is in no way out of the question for him IMO.
