Any news or rumors about the staff?

I definitely think everyone would be wise to just see how it plays out instead of going ahead and assuming the worst.

I realize BVS plays a huge role in why some people do this, but there’ll be plenty of time to be upset if, AFTER a couple more weeks, your worst fears/predictions come true.

Sometimes I worry people are speaking bad news into existence by putting so much sky-is-falling energy out there.

Take some deep breaths when it wells up in you and then, as Pat would say, “Don’t give in to fatigue!”

I swear, she’d be mad as hell if you quitters were on her team. She’d be dismissing half this board for quitting on her in the first quarter of a game as huge as this one! lol

OMG, that would be absolutely great. For the recruiter, sooner the better. Jolette Law, come on down!!!

BUT - it's Maria.
Jolette was my first thought, too, but I'm not sure why she'd leave South Carolina, especially since she grew up there and I imagine SC is home.

Any other speculation? Ole Miss just completely turned over their assistant coaching staff (and of course Kentucky just turned everyone over).

I have sources that I keep sealed but realize the P5 assistants that Coach Caldwell adds to her staff may or may not have former head coach experience. They could be former assistants with experience and/or coaches coming out of retirement.
We do not need a SC coach.. there are plenty options for the most iconic WBB in the SEC!
Lets go🍊!

Have you shared this w AD DW? He's the one who said there would winning and competing for championships next year.
Probably should have said, “we hope to get 3rd, and lose games close to the last two national champions”

I don’t post often. I have been a Vol fan since AM radio was the only form of social media available and a great source of frustration while trying to listen to my VOLS play. Bowden Wyatt was in his last year of coaching the Vols when I became a fan. Don’t google his name, it only means I’m old! I learned shortly after High School while serving in the Marine Corp it is often better to to listen than to speak, especially when you can’t forward the conversation. I have read a lot of things on this forum about coach Caldwell but not once have I heard the term leader! Leaders win and they always inspire those around them to reach or exceed their potential. I believe Coach Caldwells record speaks volumes to her leadership skills in developing young women as basketball players and future leaders. Her record speaks for itself regardless of what level. I can remember Marines crowded around a good leader in combat, it looked like crowds leaving Neyland after a big win! We all have doubts, I for one don’t on this hire. My memory slips me, I did say I was old. What was the name of the young man that started for the VOLS this past season from a small college in Colorado? How did that work out for us. A true diamond, a leader choosing a leader! I think the same just happened here just like football a few years back! GO VOLS! NO SUCH THING AS LADY VOLS! JUST VOLS!!!

thanks for the post. we need more like this. i was literally just typing something similar. CKC won this job over others. it was not handed to her b/c of connections to the lady vol family or because no one wanted it. she is a leader and a force of nature. for now, i choose to support her while also reminding myself that I do not have all of the information. she does though.

I'm told that when Caldwell was a teen growing up in the hollows of West Virginia, she slept under a framed photo of General Neyland. It's....destiny!

I haven’t heard anything about Elzy but to say it would be a disaster makes no sense. To get a former head coach in the SEC is an asset for any new head coach in the SEC regardless of how a fan(s) might feel about their previous job. Also, Elzy recently won an SEC championship. She has experienced success as both a coach and player in the SEC.

That would be a disaster. She got fired from here because she was failing at recruiting which was her main job.
Also would be odd with so much being made of getting away from the Pat tree, former Lady Vols etc...highly doubt that's the direction they are going. Seems like clean slate/fresh faces is the goal and that's not it.
