the rose bowl has ALWAYS been the premiere bowl. you don't know your history.

viewership has nothing to do with the quality of the teams playing the game. Being tied to the PAC and BIG 10's did nothing but undermine any prestige the bowl might have had. The recent move away from strict conference affiliation has helped.

ridiculous. first off this thread is OLD, but second the rose bowl has been a pac-10/big-10 matchup well before the rose bowl was even on TV. When did it's prestige get "undermined?" In the 30s?
