I thought he was playing very well at the time of his injury. I kind of have to admit that I was cheering for him to make great plays. He represented the University of Tennessee well while he was here and we all should wish this young man the best. I think that's why his leaving hurt so much but in break-up terms; it was us not him.

You mean he actually got on the field playing for Bama? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you after the talent evaluators here on VN said it would never happen.

I said he would start and got a backlash for that...

And somebody bet me $500 he wouldn't...
But I don't remember who that was.

People harping on the dude for “getting paid”. 🙄 What exactly do you think happens with these recruitments? It’s not entirely like what it used to be. Better get used to it, especially now that it’s legal.

Personally I feel like this is the weaker business decision. If I was one of the only big time players on a weaker defense I bet I could pull tons of local sponsorships instead of just being a cog in the machine.

Kid can do what he wants though. Hope he misses every tackle because buck fama but it’s only a game….

Well wishes for the young man. Majority of Vol fans condemn him for transferring to the dark side. Majority also don’t know or understand what happened behind the scenes. He was originally torn between us and Bama during his recruitment. It should be no surprise that would be his pick when the sh**-storm happened here. He’s a good person with a lot of heart. Only wish good things for him.
You are right that we don't know everything behind the scenes. You are assuming that what isn't publicly known, would present him in a favorable light. It's very possible that he took money to come here in the first place, and then bailed once he was told that no such future payments could be made. I don't blame him for leaving, but he isn't some kind of great guy because of this. Players like this used to be referred to as mercenaries.

I don't understand the hatred towards him. Guy made a business decision to leave. If my son had his choice of schools and if he misled and ended up with coaches the caliber of Nieds and Felton, I'd completely understand if he was jaded enough to leave.
There is no place for hate... but some of you are definitely assuming the best here. He probably did take money, with the pledge of more to come... and then split when he was told that under the circumstances of an internal investigation, those prior commitments which had been extended could no longer be met. He chose to be involved with Neidermeyer and Felton. He wasn't stuck with them. It is understandable that he would leave, but there is nothing admirable about any of this.

Never understood ripping on kids for things like this. He made a decision he thought was in his best interest. Wish him the best and move on
I feel torn. Yes I know kids sometimes have to make decisions based on self interest. But I also miss the days in which young men realized the extreme honor and privilege that came with wearing that power T and playing in Neyland. College football used to be different that the pros largely because young men committed to an idea and a program. Now it is basically unregulated free agency. Of course I realize I have the luxury of feeling this way when I do not have literally millions of dollars riding on my decisions like Henry T does. So I try and give grace.

Sporting events should be kept in their proper perspective, but there is nothing strange about Tennessee fans not liking it when a player transfers to Alabama.... and did Alabama fans wish him the best when he signed with Tennessee? Or did they just stop giving a $hit about him? I'm pretty sure it was the 2nd one.
