Anybody watching the Vandy-KY game?

Both of these teams really suck. If either of these teams keep us from going bowling, he have some serious issues.

News flash. We have serious issues. Believe they'll be corrected over time, but this UT team, team 117, has serious issues.

It is sicking how many times they show CJF mug on TV. It is like they can't help but come back from a commercial break without putting him on TV. Maybe they don't want to show the sparse crowd. LOL

You're right but both of these two teams havevserious issues. Atleast we matchup better than we do with Oregon, mizzou, and auburn. Hell of a lot better actually

Definitely match up better, no doubt. Should win on paper. On paper.....

I still don't understand the hype for James Franklin. Assuming Florida finishes with a losing record, only three of his wins came against teams that finished with a winning record: Georgia this year, then NC State and Ole Miss last year.

But then again I guess that is acceptable for Vanderbilt.

Your last sentence pretty much sums it up. It's all about expectations. Vandy had gone to exactly 4 bowls the last 100 years before Franklin. They've now gone to 3 in 3 years. Also, he's won as many games in less than 3 years (21), as it normally takes them to win in 6-7 years. That's why the hype.

The only things he's done are A) scheduled intelligently by having a pretty cupcake OOC schedule; Northwestern has really been the only OOC team they've played worth a crap (and they lost) and B) win the games they're supposed to. They haven't had any losses like the MTSU 2005 loss. They've beaten who they should have beaten and lost to who they should have lost to.

He also benefits greatly from a very expanded bowl schedule and the 12 game schedule. I'll give him credit for those things, but honestly if DiNardo or even Woody had these advantages, they both would have taken Vandy bowling a few times too.

Not trying to call the guy legit or say he's done it legitimately. The ooc schedule has been pathetic and they've caught some breajs with the conf schedule. But what I cited is what everybody's looking at when they hype the prick.

Not necessarily. The 12 game regular season has been a factor for everyone since 2006, and their teams prior to Franklin, with the exception of their 2008 team, haven't even been able to beat teams that by all rights they should have slaughtered.

Look at 2008 as an example, 6-6, a 4-4 SEC record, they beat top level teams like then #24 South Carolina and #13 Auburn, yet they couldn't take out cupcakes in the cases of Mississippi State or Duke.

Franklin is a dick, but unfortunately he's a dick that can win. Even if we beat him to death next Saturday, he'll probably still finish the regular season 7-5.

DiNardo and Woody certainly weren't going 9-4, nor were they pulling in top 25 classes.

Which is exactly what I said.

I said one of the things he's been able to do what other coaches haven't, which is beat the teams Vandy should. Bobby Johnson only went to one bowl, and he had 2 "good" teams but his 2005 team lost to an 0-5 MTSU team and couldn't beat a terrible UK team at home. His 2008 team did make a bowl and win but they should have at least gone 9-3; they had bad losses to Miss. St., Duke, and UT.

DiNardo and Woody definitely would have benefited from a 12 game season, more bowls, and an easier OOC schedule. DiNardo went 5-6 twice and Woody once, both of them could have made a bowl game with another cupcake OOC game thrown in.
