Anyone change their mind and is now going to Orlando?

Back in my day I just pulled for the team and didn't worry about it too much. T on the helmet used to mean more.

Guess it's a brave new world with the opt outs, NIL deals, and transfers.
Takes some of the starch out of it for me. Still, if the money is going to be like this, I suspect it won't be long before attendance will suffer. Streaming will be the norm. Let's be honest, if they go with those high tech helmets, crowd noise likely won't be as important. I can see games played in half empty stadiums with folks at home paying a PPV fee for every college game. Yeah, this "brave new world" stinks for the fans.

Bet the under.
Just read something crazy…

The under is 11-2 in Iowa games this year (T-highest under rate in FBS). Average total 34.96 (no other team has averaged less than 40.)
Last numbers I saw was -8 and o/u 36. That’s be 22-14. I’d gladly take scoring 20 points right now and take our chances.

Just looking for a QB that can read a defense and perhaps check off to another play. How refreshing that would be to see. GBO !
I have a feeling that Nico will do whatever he wants and Josh will name the score. Iowa hasn’t t seen anything like Tennessee and hasn’t seen a QB remotely close to Nico all year.
So they got beat by Michigan 31 to 0 McCarthy must have had a decent game but hope Nico can top that, I really like you're blind confidence.

It's a little odd to me that someone would base their travel off getting to see a true freshman QB play the Iowa defense in person. I really hope it all works out, but I have a feeling it's going to be a tractor pull.
I wont get to go, I guess I'll have to wait & see his first start at Nico Neyland Stadium next year.

I think attendance is already suffering for the bowl games. With all the opt outs and transfers, unless you are in the playoffs, the games really don't matter. The players know that, the coaches know that, the fans know that. I hate that bowl games have fallen to this level, but for example, if you were deciding whether or not you are going to watch an MLB game in person and they announced that the star outfielders, shortstop, first baseman, DH, starting pitcher, and closer were all not playing, would you still go, or even watch?

We were going regardless. It's only 3hrs for us, but some of these "discussions" about whether or not to go if so- and- so is or is not playing boggle my mind. Be a damn fan.
Pretty unfair take. Many people are excited to get a glimpse of our future instead of watching the same mediocre play from Joe. Fans get to make these decisions. Kind of like I go to many more games now than I did 5 years ago. I’m always a fan, but a lot goes into a game day for me and the family. It’s a 1K day at mimimim and my off days are limited. I’m more apt to make that drive and spend that money when I feel good about what’s taking the field. Thats just life. Now if you’d like to pay my way I’ll go to all of them.

I'm not rich or anything but I can afford to go to games and concerts etc.

It's just the principle of how much prices have been gouged for live events since covid lifted for me on not going to stuff.

Through Ticketmaster website , solid lower bowl section seats to this game was in the 250 to 350 each range. Club seats were 450. Upper deck are 65 each which, if I'm making the trip to FL, I'm not messing with nosebleed seats.

Throw in travel costs and lodging, and I'd be in for around 1500$ easy for me and my GF. That makes a serious dent in a new hot tub lol.

I dread seeing it but you're right on the future being PPV for each game. Or something like NFL Sunday Ticket. Can't expect corporations or the schools or conferences to foot the bill for all this NIL money.

If you’re only going to the game because of a backup QB playing, then I have to question your loyalty to the football program. Please stay home. You’re not a true fan!
You joined in 2012 and have very few posts. You don't have a high enough post count to be a member of the True Fan Police.

Ticket prices have become ridiculous. The GameDay experience , fun as it is, is becoming less worth the $$. I forsee things quickly going the way many on this thread are predicting (ppv). A while back, the PA guy said they asked us to please pay these prices and pay no more. Well, now it is so much more.

There was a regional band out of ATL I used to follow around the SE some. Saw them in 2019 and tickets were in the 15 to 20 buck range.

They are 65 to 85 now.

Just absurd how much everything has gone up in a short time.

It’s been pretty clear so far this bowl season that attendance is in the gutter. It’s only going to get worse.

Of course, the bowls so far have largely been toilet bowl level consolation prizes, but even these games used to mean a little more. Now, it just seems that the fanfare for them is muted. How do you get fans excited for a bowl when the players themselves are opting out or throwing themselves in the portal?

Glad we are in a bowl and against a quality opponent. Remembering the lean years, we would have killed just to be eligible and going to anything. But I’d be a liar if I said this Nico deal hasn’t renewed a lot of excitement for me.

My sentiments exactly. Joe's power & experience would have been useful in this game. It's going to be tough sledding, especially being thin at RB.

I have a feeling that Nico will do whatever he wants and Josh will name the score. Iowa hasn’t t seen anything like Tennessee and hasn’t seen a QB remotely close to Nico all year.

And Nico hasn't started a game........ That Iowa defense is no joke. All our experienced RB's are out of this one (sans Sampson) I'm going to see how this affects the spread; UT was 7-8 point favorite before.

Come on man. I like the hope, but nobody knows what Nico will do.

I was already going, huge Joe Milton fan, but I'm definitely more excited to see the future.

not enough confidence in Heupel and Nico in here. I fully expect Heup to be aggressive and put together a great game plan and hang numbers on these Big Ten boys. Nico's ready
