Anyone excited about a Phillips and Estrella front line next season?

If Felix stays our front court ought to be solid.
Need to find a nice point that can score and a couple of guards. The 4 position might be the hardest to fill. We really need to hit on both the guys we bring in there.
I might get a lot of crap for this, but I think we'll be better when ZZ leaves. I think he dribbles a little too much and hurts the flow of the offense.
I absolutely love the kid to death, and he gives us other things that help us win. I am super happy to have him this year in the tournament, and the last 4.
I'm just talking about improving and being better next year on offense. Taking that next step and all that.

Okpara is listed as a junior. If Estrella has a good rehab, we should end up with our best big man rotation since Barnes came to TN. I was excited about that for this season, before Estrella’s injury.

I'm not trying to look to forward rigt now. Who knows what the roster will look like next season? Barnes may retire. Some of our players may or may not be granted an extra year. Plus, Zeigler creates so many easy lay up shots for the big men, its difficult to know how they will play without him. I'm just trying to enjoy what is left now and not get my hopes up for anything more.

Exactly. I think this is Boswell’s team next year if he chooses to stay. I hope he realizes that he didn’t get on the floor a lot this regular season because of Ziegler’s ability to play nearly all 40 minutes and Gainey being first guard off bench.

I hope if Barnes stays another year, he lets Boswell know he’s the PG of this team

Of the 6 scholarship seniors, Chaz Lanier and Darlinstone Dubar are going to be out of eligibility.

Of the 4 that could get an extra year if the NCAA allows it, Igor is least likely to not go to a pro league. ZZ, Mashack, and Gainey we can hope to return.

Maybe I’m getting all confused w the different lawsuits and stuff… but now that we’re past the Covid year, how are players who have played for 4 years getting a 5th year of eligibility?

zz has been great but I agree with you on the dribbling

I notice too that he dribbles too much and gets too reckless, but mostly when feels like he needs to "take over the game". Sometimes he seems to be playing on instinct and not thinking much.

Once it is confirmed that they will be back next season, I will get excited. Until then, everyone is a free agent.

I hope Okpara and Cade do some work in off-season on their offensive game
The bigs on this team are athletic good rebounders and rim protectors....
I love the way both players go hard to
And dunk the ball .....but add a jump hook short jump shot would complete their game.... GO VOLS!!!!
