Anyone have an idea where Pruitt learned this payoff scheme from?

Anyone know where all this cash came from? Did he have access to a "petty cash" fund in the AD or was it out of his own pocket?
If it came out of his own pocket, did he declare it on his Fed taxes as some kind of fake expense? Inquiring IRS minds, corrupt as they are, might want to know.

We all know where he learned it from. The difference is Pruitt ain't untouchable like that other guy is. They went from scandals galore to national champ in a 2 year span followed by title after title. Not one soul can convince me that a guy cut from that Bill cloth with that same personality is some master recruiter.

First thing Saban told Alabama when he took the job was that he controlled all information and media around the program. There was a reason for that. He would have never took the job if the Knoxville News Sentinel ran the Tuscaloosa media.

That an "unnamed booster" was disassociated as part of the self-imposed penalties, it would appear some money came from him.

But $60k over two years when you're a head coach making almost $4 million a year isn't a huge sum to pull from your own pocket.

Yeah, my thoughts too, but some people are tight as the bark on a tree and won’t let go of any money no matter how much they make. The donor connection seems very likely though.

This stuff has been going on at UAT for decades.... before I was born... Bryant was a buddy of Logan Young's dad, and later Logan... this goes back to when Bryant came to UAT. In fact, I know Bryant was cited for cheating at TAMU before... and I think Maryland. It's endemic at toilettown... part of their culture. Stallings wasn't exactly "clean Gene" either if you recall.

I can say, with a high degree of confidence, that Nick nor Terry Saban have directly given players or their families cash. He's just not that dumb. Doesn't mean they didn't/don't cheat. But this level of ass hatery is absurd

i have a friend who played D1 football at a power 5 school decades ago and he said, “if your football team isn’t cheating in recruiting it’s not trying“.

Little Nick gets his assistants to do his corrupt under the table McDonald's dealings. If the heat gets hot he sends them off to the NFL or some HS coaching job and let it die down and then they can come back in his analyst re hab program. Nick got called out by Jimbo last year. Jimmie knows how saban works.
