I’ve wondered if anyone knows whether the staff plans to try to red shirt him ? And does anyone know how many games he can participate in at this point and still be eligible ?

If you think he’s going to stay here four years, not to mention five, then he’s not nearly as good as we think he is. The redshirt isn’t relevant.

Joe needs to get every snap until after Georgia - and if UF loses to LSU and one more - and UGA loses to UF and UT -All of which I believe will happen- Joe needs every snap left in the season 😁😁😁😁😁

That’s basically what I’m thinking. It’s way to early to tell of course what the next couple of years will prove. Lots of talk about getting him into games and many opinions on that, but it seems at this point it’s close enough to not want to burn it.

Here is the fact, Nico is only here for 3 years.
Does that mean he plays the 24 & 25 season and goes pro ? Or does the 3 years you’re referring to mean 3 years after this year ? I guess I’m thinking there’s a lot of possibilities that could derail the best of “plans” and injury or needing more polish is a couple of those things.

I am thinking McIntire is a vol and waits on nico to leave

I think Nico is talented, don’t get me wrong, Merklinger looks to be a really talented prospect too and I think Tennessee lands Mcyentre. I think by the talent log jam alone Nico must be that good. Nico two years then Merklinger and Mac. I hope that heup can convince madden to come as well. That would set the program up for 6-7 years of dominate quarterback play.

Nothing done so far indicates anyone (staff or player) cares one way or the other. He was never going to play a lot this season short of a serious injury or Milton totally imploding, and he has not imploded. If Nico plays in four or fewer games, he will have a redshirt year available should he want it.

It’s really a big nothing-burger right now.

Nico stays a little longer IF his NIL payments go up. He will make more in College than a rookie Pro unless he's a Top draft pick.

Whether he ends up as good as we all hope, we should still do right by the kid and preserve a year of eligibility for him just in cas.
It’s a moot point, because he’s only going to have the opportunity to get into a maximum of two more games, but I can say with a fair amount of certainty that he is not interested in redshirting.

It may become a moot point, but it is not one at this moment. There is always the chance the starting QB gets injured.

We alsp have UK, UConn, UGA, Mizzou, Vandy, and a bowl game. That is 6 games.

If there is an injury you play Nico and give him a few games as a starter. But unless there is a massive lead where you can get him at least a quarter of action, you sit him. Don't bring him out for one last possession. Don't waste a game getting him just two throwing attempts.

Do right by him, even If he wants to play. Don't let the kid lose a year so he can handoff the ball against Vandy..

Completely agree. I for one am really nervous for the kid. If he isn't Manning the first game the fans on here will want him crucified. Some of our fans really suck.

Did you get stuck in a Time Machine? If he needs a redshirt we missed badly on the 8 million dollar man.
