It was not just their band, but fans as well who were depicting Tennessee in a derogatory manner. Hey SMALLVOL,it is so good to hear from you GOD BLESS you and your family. I hope all is well. And just a question to you on a personal note,did you have your little dog dressed in his/her Tennessee outfit? We have a special memory of a small dog dressed as your avatar is on your posts. This was on Canal Street close to Bourbon Street. One of our special memories of that Sugar Bowl.

We probably did; the one as my avatar is our third. Number Two was actually recognized as Small Vol by the Torch, modeling in her #1 football jersey. That is why I chose my screen name. We were out walking after the game; New Orleans was a lot of fun back then and, if you stayed in the “area”, very safe any time.

I do remember the Virginia fans screaming about ‘although they may have lost the game, we would be working for them’. They were truly a continuing embarrassment to their state. Every school has some, but they had so many! Pitiful rebuttal for a football loss, but what was so funny to me was that several Virginia grads were reporting to my husband at that time. Go figure.
