Bump

Coug, did you watch the full season of Defiance? What did you think? I thought it got a little formulaic for a couple episodes, finished really really strong. IMO Really enjoyed it.

Thought I would really like this series but I only got through 4 episodes before stopping
I found it confusing and too complex plus didn't really fit my genre warehouse 13 supernatural Grimm revolution walking dead etc

It almost lost me midway through, got a little stale. Definitely glad I stuck with it though.


I watch all those but Warehouse 13, is it any good?

Love Defiance, glad FOX doesn't have there hands on it. You know it would be cancelled by now.

Speaking of Syfy movies. The one they premiered last night, "Sharknado" went viral. How that happens is beyond me, but celebrities were commenting on this show. I happened to be hanging out with my dad and he had this show on. I walk into the room and ask him what he's watching, and he's like, "I'm watching the worst SyFy movie I've ever seen! I mean it's just bad." Both he and I watch SyFy a lot so we've seen our fair share of really horrible SyFy movies so that's saying a lot.

I've been watching defiance. have it DVR'd, not seen the end of the season yet, but I like how it's done a few monster of the week style things to get us in universe (similar to early Supernatural/Buffy/Angel) and then went into the over arching plot.

The game looks both terrible yet good at the same time. Still not picked it up.

I usually watch several shows on SyFy each week. However like a lot of cable channels the shows season are spread out over the course of the year you never know when its going to start or stop. So a lot of these shows listed aren't currently airing.

Ghost Hunters
Warehouse 13
Defiance
Haven
Hollywood Treasure (The historian & movie buff in me really likes this one!)
Haunted Collector
Ghost Mine (Really liked this as much for the mining as the ghost hunting!)
Continuum (Watched the 1st season but haven't seen any of the 2nd yet!)

I loved Stargate until they killed the franchise with Stargate Universe.
Destination Truth, Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files(Haven't heard if these two are coming back or not?)
Sanctuary (I liked this as well before it was cancelled!)

Unlike a lot of people I can't bring myself to watch there crappy movies.

However in my opinion one of the best television min-series in the last 15-20 years came from SyFy back in 2002.
Steven Spielberg's Taken it was a 10 episode series that followed three families from 1944 to 2002! It featured Roswell, MIBs etc.. it was really well done series. It had a pretty good cast as well Julie Benz, Joel Gretsch, Ryan Hurst, Emily Bergl, Eric Close, Catherine Dent and Dakota Fanning in what was her breakout role.

I just watched the season finale episode. A lot of people falling out of windows and off cliffs. Not sure I get the purpose of the "keys" she had in her other than the one episode where the old lady said the one key could activate the terraformers.

It took almost 4-episodes before I found out its the same actress (Jaime Murray) that plays (recurring since season 1 finale) Helena "H.G." Wells in Warehouse 13
