Anyone Who Thought The Tennessee Fan Base...

what about those mentally deficient enough to claim -- no, guarantee -- that Tennessee would finish no worse than 4th in any conference other than the Big East?

As bad as Clemson was, they won exactly as many games as Tennessee did in the tournament.

Hat said something good about Tennessee? I'll believe it when I see it.

How many ACC teams made it past the first round of the NCAA Tournament?

Well, when he's not trying to pass off Davidson off as more than they are, TennNC certainly fits the bill. Dylan Stevens certainly is a candidate for membership in that club.

Did someone call my name?

Sorry - I've been busy the past 3 months trying to pass off my alma mater (and my dad's, uncle's, 3 cousins', sister's, wife's, and brother-in-law's) as something more than they are. I'm still trying.

But where's the benefit? If Memphis can keep his compensation comparable to what UK could offer, what would be his motivation to leave for Lexington? What about the UK job is "better" than his current situation in Memphis?

There are lots of dimensions that we're not aware of in these types of decisions. Personal decisions that don't always make a lot sense to those of us on the outside looking in. Maybe Cal is the type of guys who needs a new challenge? Maybe he wants to be a part of an institution which is one of the most storied in college basketball? Maybe he's sick of dominating C-USA and still not getting any respect or attention until tourney time? I don't know, but it could be any of these.

Don't worry. All seventeen people who watched that epic matchup with St. Mary's are still on the bandwagon.

This is going to get even crazier if BCG (and there's no reason why he/they can't) wins the NIT. WE CAN BUILD ON THIS!!!!!

I like this catspause post:

Recruiting and BG..
Ive seen many people on here compare the BG situation to the Brooks situtation a few years back. Also, many people have said that Billy hasnt had the time to recruit because almost all the 07 and 08 classes were almost all gone.

Well, since we are comparing football and basketball. How can Lane Kiffin come to UT and start signing recruits left and right. Get a top 10 class that includes the #1 OVERALL player in the class.

The "not having enough time to recruit" seems pretty much dead now that Kiffin proved that wrong.

What does everybody else think?

I think Billy G's recruiting is not the problem.

Tony Barbee.

I could see that. I don't think Cal is going anywhere, but if he did I wouldn't mind seeing Sean Miller come pick up where Cal left off. What are the chances that would happen about 0? I know he just signed a long contract, but just wondering your thoughts on this.

I think Sean Miller is content right where he's at.

So if Jaime Dixon leaves Pitt do you think 1) Pitt would go after Miller and 2) he would leave if they did?
Yes and I'm not sure. Miller was quick to remove himself from the chatter regarding the Indiana job last season. He's got a really, really good gig at X. Not sure the Pitt job is that much more appealing.

Well he did play there

I think people overrate the importance of that factor. That's what leads people to insane assumptions like Pat Riley was going to be interested in replacing Eddie Sutton at Kentucky and Bill Self was going to bolt Kansas for Okahoma State.

Yeah well, It's not like Riley or Self would have been taking a step up for those jobs (both would be more like a step down). Miller would.
