Oklahoma and FGC should be ranked. Glad to see UT up to # 7 even if tied with UCONN. Stanford is such a huge game. Win that and UT will be back in the top 5. When was the last time UT was ranked that high?
I hope we don’t get carried away with the new rankings. Saturday will tell us a lot about our team. We are going to need to play a very good sound game against Stanford to win. I certainly believe we are capable if we continue to play good defense, score from the FT line, continue to be a beast on the boards, cut down on foolish mistakes and be selective with our shots.
Yes definitely agree! A lot of eyes will be on this game as it’s somewhat of a litmus test to see if we’re really a contender this year or not.a lot of the press are waiting on this game to see if tennessee on its back
Yes we have all week to get the nerves out! I honestly think we can keep Jones in check, it’s Brink I’m worried about. Even though Key has faced a somewhat similar center in VT’s Kitley, I think Brink has a more polished offensive game and a little quicker than her. If we can contain Brink I’m confident we can take the W even without Rae!Thank god this game is Saturday get a little sweaty thinking about this matchup since we beat Virginia Tech. Texas got lucky when they played and Stanford could hit sh** and Haley jones likely is a 100% now

Yep. And a few regular posters here are anxiously awaiting the first time our Lady Vols get their butts kicked this year. They cannot WAIT for that joyous (for them) day to happen! There has simply been too much good press about Tennessee this year, and they are poised and ready to flood the board with the adjectives “overrated” and “exposed,” mixed in with various forms of “I told you so” and “we’ll be lucky to finish the season ranked,” …. and on and on and on.
So predictable, and even more transparent.
I agree that whoever wins the Brink/Key matchup will play a huge role in the outcome of the game. I disagree that Brink is more polished offensively than Kitley. I think Elizabeth is much better in that regard. Brink has the advantage over Elizabeth because she's tougher and a better defensive player, even if not overall skilled. She'll bring a lot of the same things that Tamari does for Tennessee: rebounding, blocked/altered shots, takes up space. Stanford has the better supporting case, so that's probably where the game will be won if Brink/Key play to a standstill.Yes we have all week to get the nerves out! Replied in the game thread.Amb, do you think Kellie will start them out in man-to-man? Or that 2-3 zone? I’m curious what her plans are to try to contain Haley Jones AND Lexie Hull. As for Brink, I feel like if Key can hold her to 16 or less AND get a couple of blocks and several successful shot-altering plays on Hull driving the lane, that’ll be TK’s best game of the year — regardless of how much she does or doesn’t score herself.
