I found this on Yahoo Sports by Larry Vettel

Alabama is no where near as good as it looked Saturday. Every unit on the field probably had its best day ever. Alabama hit big play after big play. Brodie Croyle had the day of his life. And until he suffered a devastating and stomach-wrenching injury, Tyrone Prothro was as good or better than David Palmer ever was. The defensive line, which Arkansas pushed around more than held its own, and linebackers Freddie Roach and DeMeco Ryans were simply awesome. This is the best game they will play all year

Castille? are you referring to Tim? or Simeon? Neither of wich is a split end.

I was talking aboyt TIM Castille ( :Bbiteme: Georgie!) because he's the only player besides Croyle and Prothro that caught my attention yesterday.

I agree. The game is always hard fought, but it should get serious attention from the natonal media this year.

Of course, we have a little matter to handle with UGA first before we can even start thinking about it.

Until about 12 years ago, it used to be a way of life for the Vols.

I don't think there's any such thing as "shoulds" when you are playing top 10 teams. I've never seen a year like this where we have ended up playing so many highly ranked teams.

AP does matter. USC wouldn't be shooting for #3 in a row if AP poll didn't matter.

There could still be a split poll champion, one BCS winner and another team laying claim to the national title via #1 in the AP. No different than '03 with LSU and SoCal.

It mattered 2 years ago, but the AP asked to be taken out of the BCS rankings.

Yes, they will still crown an unofficial champ, but they have no say in who plays in the BCS games and who gets the paydays.

Don't think so . . . the poll last week didn't come out until Monday I think.

Thats my point. The AP will still crown an unofficial champ, which could be different than the BCS, but the media will still recognize it.

In the nation's eyes, you might as well forget that LSU won the BCS because the media darling is going for the 3 peat.

So the AP still matters, it could still be perceived to crown a national champion.
