Apologies to APSU. I never knew.

Despite the obvious criticisms, AP played a damn good game for what it's worth.

If the Vols aren't awake after that game then its gonna be a long season.

AP did UT a favor if you ask me. Hopefully that was a wakeup call.

The Vols better come out with their hair on fire Saturday or Florida will be the ones celebrating.

I thought Akron had come back reinvented.....
That is one of the problems with playing instate schools for no conference games. Many of the -layers would have loved to play at Tennessee, but because they were not offered, many will try to get payback by playing dirty. Together with a coach who wants to make his name by playing us close, one gets what we saw Saturday. We will play much better and win at Florida.

Amazing how many chop blocks were called. For sure this was a dirty team. I wonder if it starts with the coach?
Their coach strikes me as a win at all costs type guy. If he is in a fist fight, he would definitely pull a gun or knife. And then walk around like he's the baddest mf on the planet.

Definitely starts with the coach. That nonsense during the punt was very much planned. 2 players don't just take it upon themselves to jump on a player for no reason. I'm sure, in his mind it was gamesmanship that was designed to frustrate our players and get them off their game....just like he thought those stupid sideline antics were getting him positive exposure. All he did was throw everything in his arsenal into one game and subsequently the teams whole season away to not get blown out by one team in one game. Dude is probably still running around Knoxville somewhere jacked up on red bull.

Yeah, the AP coach looked wired. Not sure he could pass a drug test after that game. Maybe try De-caff ?

I agree they had a good game plan. For one, keep the ball and run out the clock ( Tenn high scoring offense can't score if we don't have the ball ). They took some of Tenn playbook with the 4 wide outs gathered together. They went for it on 4th down just like Florida did last year ( what do they have to lose ? ) And there truly is parity in college football where they were almost equal in size and speed. Not that much difference between teams today.

And for those not at the game, one of the AP assistants was taunting the student section several times during game like he was begging for mustard bottles!

Start tracking their coach. He's going places. Very impressive game plan and execution.
Yeah they did a good scout And Tennessee was plain vanilla. Peay guessed right basically all night which tells me Heupel did NOTHING new (and why should he) for this game.

So I haven't heard any explanation or comments about this, even after the game...I was sitting on that side of the field when this happened, and the crowd went absolutely bonkers...but the entire thing was seemingly completely ignored.

Was anything ever said about it by ANYONE?
