Apparently Hart blew the deal...

Gruden is going to wait until the end of the season and review all the offers on the table. All the other coaches are doing the same thing. Once the first guy signs then the others will fall in line.

People tend to forget that Hart has to look at for an entire department, not just one team.

Maybe you are new here, I don't know, I guess that you don't know much about the UT Athletics Department. The football program has traditionally made enough money to support all of the other non-revenue programs, and sports. Therefore, when football makes money so does the rest of the department. Football is the Athletics Department at UT. Plain and simple UT is a Football School.

No, but you want to believe it so bad that you would post it to get attention. Gruden played UT for all we were worth. Wanted the freaking golden calf for $$ and then wanted total control over FB so that when he broke rules (which "supposedly" he was concerned about doing) he could self not report. He played us, period.

Yup. Look at my posts. I said he was playing us. Making unreal expectations. He really reminded me of a Lame Kiffin who just through his pops under the bus. GET YA SOME KIFFIN!!!!

Okay here's my proposition. I will take out Dave Hart by a method of choice, succeed him as AD, and pay Gruden 100 million over 8 years with an additional 10 million per year for his staff. Will we be in massive debt? For sure. But will we win ballgames? Absolutely. The end justifies the means IMO. Who's with me?

If Grudie truly wanted to be paid more than Saban, then he is off his rocker.

Godspeed! Let's move on...

David Shaw....come on down...to the GREATEST COACHING POSITION IN THE ENTIRE NCAA!!!!!

David Shaw is at his dream job stanford

How many games has Jon Gruden won in college as a head coach? Ohh! Your HOPING he could win big here. 100 million dollars on a hunch? Probably a good thing you do not have 100 million dollars. I would hate to see a grown man cry.

David Shaw is at his dream job stanford

A dream job if you like being very underpaid. I could not find what he actually makes but there was an article that said he makes significantly less than the 3 million a year Stanford offered Harbaugh to stay before he left for the 9'ers. There was a huge uproar at Stanford when the offer was made to Harbaugh. Most people did not think they should be spending money like that on a football coach. Shaw may love it there, but he will never make anything close to top money.

So Peyton Manning (VFL since 94) and many other longtime boosters wanted Gruden. Dave Hart (VFL for 13 months) said "nope, my search" #wut

IDK anything about Peyton Manning, but it's true that Hart is blowing off big money donors and telling them that he has it handled. He's shunning alums who have been very generous to UT over the years. I hope Hart lands a big fish and has the funds to pay, because the man is burning bridges. But it's going to be hard to land a big fish when he isn't talking to any.

It's not about money to him he always wanted the stanford job...his dad also coached at stanford...

Shaw insists now, as he did when he was hired in January, that Stanford is his “dream job” and the “first and only head coaching job” he wants. He understands credit will never come his way this season, not with Luck headlining a roster stacked with NFL talent, and that’s perfectly fine by Shaw.
The way he sees it, if his name is never mentioned for a more high-profile job, that’s just one less distraction.
“It does nothing for me. I don’t get excited about it. I don’t go, ‘Ooooh, that’s kind of cool,”’ Shaw said. “I don’t care. I don’t need anyone to give me any credit for what I’m doing. I don’t need my name to be bounced around for anything. I couldn’t care less. I want to dig my heels in here and hopefully they’ll drag me away from this place and force me into retirement at some point.”

And when the same RumorMill was quoted saying Gruden not coming to UT weeks ago it was full of BS and did not know a thing. Now that it says it's on Hart, KILL THE MAN!!:eek:lol:

This place is a trip.

Well, if he (Hart) doesn't hire the right coach (big name) he not only will have to hire an entire staff, but find players...and who the hell wants to come to Knoxville and play for an unknown again...as well as the fans to fill the seats to pay big bucks to watch "The Hart Dog and Pony Show", sure as hell not me.

Huh? I have no idea who the RumorMill is or what they have been quoting-- but I have heard the same thing from boosters and donors. Ask a booster and see what you hear.

Mr. ego, bammer dave does not give a damn about UT football. It is all about "my power and control and telling those boosters who really is in charge here."

Here's another 'theory' how about anyone of you post anything proving that hart even offered gruden and he screwed it up? not some rumor, proof? The only thing I have seen that is not rumor was Gruden say himself he had no offer from UT. Yet everyone and their brother is starting thread's how hart screwed it up, or we didn't meet money demand's with no proof of nothing from ut, good grief show some proof.

I guess I don't understand why Dave Hart should come out and tell anyone who he is or is not considering for the job. Did he say he was going to keep fans updated daily? Why should he say Gruden is no longer in the running if he never was? Does he need to comment because the fans or media fabricated things in their head? I just don't get why fans feel they are owed an explanation before the search is over.

We thought initially that UT/Gruden were Khal/Khaleesi.

Then we found out we were just Viserys.
