Apparently something is going on?

Louisville has some major issues right now with corruption at the University. I live in Kentucky and while everyone has heard about the prostitution scandal involving Pitino there are other issues involving the back room dealings on the Yum Center financing and an audit being conducted right now by the State Auditor into the President John Ramsey and the UofL foundation. Lots of speculation that Ramsey will be dismissed (faculty recent conducted a vote of no confidence) and high likelihood that current AD Tom Jurich heads to USC.

One could argue the same situation exists at UT albeit on a lower scale with different issues.

I would never want him as a coach. His in-game adjustments suck and his team's never beat UConn. They always crumble. He's not tough or smart enough for Tennessee.

I would let Holly go today and let the assistants finish out the season. Maybe one of them will turn it around if they can make the right changes and have a shot at the coaching job. If not, then bring in a new coach.

Lord no! Let her finish it. Not another emotional pick from the family. The AD needs to turn over every stone to find the absolute best. This is UT, not somebody trying to keep a program going.

When Pat retired I posted on TOS that he should at least be interviewed. I was lambasted to the high heavens and the vast majority said a man should never be allowed to coach the women's team under any circumstances. If Holly were to leave rest assured that this attitude has not gone away.

That group over there is one of the main reasons no man (and some women for that matter--think Brenda Friese) would ever consider taking the Tennessee job.

LOL... Holly coached lights out tonight. Keep this rumor alive, she needs a little pressure.

No kidding! Holly absolutely schooled Balcomb tonight and coached her best game of the season on both ends of the court. I don't know where that's been all season but let's try to get another rumor going Monday and watch her take down Staley and mighty USC...

Holly will return next year regardless, the powers that be will not make a change when UT is ranking at No.2 in attendance. It will take power from the empty seats to power from a big donor to get their attention. Of course it don't hurt to dream......

I hope it's true. Tennessee needs a new coach. I like Holly as a person, but I do not see her leading this team back to a Final Four let alone a National Championship. She is still trying to implement this 1980s brand of basketball and the offense looks terrible. Same things year after year with no improvement and she says the same speech to the media repeatedly. Not trying to be mean, but please let it be true. We need an entire new coaching staff or this program will sink deeper.

I agree but if Nared does not come up clutch when Vandy closed to within 6, we could have another blown situation.

Sometimes the difference between good and bad coaching is players make shots at the right time.

I bet there are Bama fans still pissed because they chose Saban and didn't go with another candidate from the Bama "family".

Sometimes the best candidate is the best candidate.

Maybe, but in the case of LV basketball, I don't see them bringing in an outsider, and a large portion of that fan base that has been loyal all this time not going nuts about it. Compare it to Bama football all you want, it isn't anywhere close to the same thing.

Hell, if I had my way, I would find a cure for Pat's alzheimer's and bring her back. But as long as she is still able to realize what is happening with the program she built from scratch, I don't want an outsider.

Give Holly and staff some credit were certainly playing better. She made some huge mistakes in her substitution pattern in the A&M game or that would have been a win. I think we have a chance to upset SC will need everybody to bring their A game but it could happen.

Does the official Athletic Department have the power to actually make any such change this year? First, you have the buyout. Second, I feel their are $editiou$ players at work that can create havoc if there emotionally charged interests are not taken care of. We just had the State Legislature get involved in the One Tennessee change for Christ's sake.

If there are "seditious players," Holly has the authority to sit them or get rid of them. If she does not, that is another very good reason to fire her.

Only problem is that Vandy Sucks bad this season. Let's see what the Lady Vols can do against a good team. My guess is they lose big.

It is Holly's job to meld these girls to maximize their individual talents. She hasn't done that all season. Nared is best driving to the basket and using her long arms not jacking up threes. A good coach would have coached that into her a long time ago.

However, now when she disciplines out of control players people get on here and P***, B****, Whine, and Moan.

And Andraya playing madwoman defense, then hitting free throws.

In reality who can Holly really get rid of, with no recruits coming in next year, and I doubt if we will see Jones on the court again, we will be down to 9 players. If we have any injuries next year our bench will be very short.

Holly's coaching must improve but that does not matter if she cannot recruit and replenish the cupboard. We need to look to the future, and realize that the 2017 recruiting class must be At least a top five, no less than a top ten, class. This program cannot survive at the top ten level with two bad recruiting years in a row.
