Apparently something is going on?

This story was completely false. Waltz hasn't been contacted by anyone and there aren't boosters lined up to get rid of Holly.

No matter how many times you post it on a message board, Holly is not going to be let go after one bad season, no matter what.

I think Waltz would come if we pay him what he us worth. He can recruit and can develop players. He could be a good fit. Before reaching out to him I would like to feel out Kara Lawson and see if she has any interest. She may not because she is quickly moving up at ESPN.

Let us message board people dream DeerPark hahaha....We know she will not be let go this year but we can dream.....we're just worried long term about the program that's all...It's tough going from the Elite in the country to the middle of the SEC

I will say since 1995 UConn has been the program in women's basketball we were only there in name only since 95 Uconn has 10 NC's on it's way to 11 and 16 final 4's on their way to a 17th.....for UT since 95 we have in comparison 5 NC's and 10 final 4's but none in either category since 2008 nearly 8 years ago.....sad sad times around here

Prior to 2009 we were as good as anyone!

We won 5 Championships from 95-08.
Over the same period Uconn won... 5.

The problem is that from 09 to 15, they won 5 more. (including the last 3).

maybe all of geno's players would slip on the ice and break their legs.... then they'd only beat us by 20....

Most on this board are bashing the coach and some players all day long every day. I think they actually believe that their Robotic Posts will get Holly fired.

Which is my point....where did we go wrong while UConn is still on top!! To me the game changed and everyone else adjusted while UT did not

How has the game changed? IMO all this started with Summit's cognitive decline and giving Warlick more control.

The only other thing I can think of is when they changed the 10 second rule that hurt us because Summit was so good at the press. Now that the 10 second is back, I'd like to see us go back to a Summit/Pitino style press.

The LVs have never had an offense go back on youtube and watch the old games....the offense you see now has been in place since the 70s when Pat started...and that's why Holly only knows one kind of offense which is none

Nobody thinks posting on a message board is going to get Warlick fired, its a way to voice displeasure in the way the program is going. She'll either start winning and getting people back into TBA or her ass will be gone and hopefully so will some of you Warlick worshippers. If this was her first or second year people like you might have an argument but the writing is on the wall if you would only take off the blindfold and look at it. She has taken something that was a matter of pride for Vol fans and is slowly ruining it. She is a female version of Dooley and hopefully sooner rather than later she'll go the same way he did. Maybe it won't be too late to right the ship whenever that happens.

And BTW, your little "Faar Holly!" shtick is getting old.

Cool. Then maybe when they lose 15-20 next year, have a recruiting class again not ranked and attendance dropping low maybe they will

Card fan coming in peace.

Met Coach Warlick a couple of years back at the Kentucky State Tournament. She was there scouting Erin Boley of Elizabethtown (I'm their PA Announcer) and we talked for about 15 minutes. She was very nice to talk to.

She really was put into a difficult situation, replacing a legend (Google the number of coaches UCLA has gone through since Wooden).

That being said, I'm not going to get into the keep her vs. fire her argument. That's for the UT fans to discuss.

If she does go I don't realistically see Jeff Walz being a serious contender for her job. Jeff has stated in public that he plans to either retire or be fired from his position. They way he is recruiting and the level to which he has brought this program I think safely removes the fired part from the equation.

His last recruiting class was ranked #1 in the nation and this coming years class is ranked somewhere around #5 .

The administration (AD Tom Jurich) has done a great job in bringing the level of all our programs up to scale with our men's basketball. The U of L women's program is treated no differently. They play in the KFC YUM Center. Although we haven't reached UT's level in fan support we consistently draw around 9,000 per game, and have been in the top 5 in attendance the past few years.

Jeff tells all the recruits that our goal is to win a National Championship, and not just one. We fans are of the opinion that we are to the point where it is only a question of time before we bring one home.

It's gratifying when the historically good programs covet your coach. It' just that we, and I think Coach Walz also, believe that we've reached the level of the elite programs, like UT and there is really no better job than at U of L.

Again, I was really impressed the one time I got to speak with Coach Warlick and I hope the situation resolves itself to everyone's satisfaction . . . but we really want to keep Coach Walz.

If Jeff can mold a team of mostly freshmen and sophomores into championship caliber, just think what he could do with 5 McD AAs and a few spare parts. If UT is going to pull the trigger, they need to do it ASAP. I am sure that Jeff has a good crop of 2017 recruits, and doubt if Holly has anything close to that. I also think that Jeff has a better chance of encouraging one or two top JC post into signing with Tennessee. Right now Holly has way too many negative things associated with her program that she will need to overcome in order to have a successful recruiting class. One more year of Holly and this program could seriously crash and burn, it has already lost some serious altitude.

Louisville has been getting really good recruiting classes. Didn't he have the #1 recruiting class this year? It's not like the players he has on the court are not good. They got off to a rough start, but have been very good since those first few weeks.

The problem is Tennessee has nothing to offer him. He has no reason to leave Louisville, where he has the players, AD support, top notch facilities, and fan support and come to Tennessee, which is quickly flaming out and is fast becoming a shell of a once great program.

They are better off getting a younger coach who is making marks for a smaller school and wants to now move up to a bigger stage. They don't have enough to offer the Jeff Walzes of the world.

The worst thing we can do is name a coach with no search. We need a national search and let the best man or woman win.

Unlike last time, we need to let the process play out and we may be pleasantly surprised by what we find.

Firing Holly could end up being a disaster.

After firing Phillip Fulmer seven seasons ago, the football team still does not have a truly marquee win. Still have not beaten Florida or Alabama, and still have not won even a division title in a Very Mediocre division.

The Fulmer Curse.

Coaches will say the exact right thing to the media. We as fans never know exactly what is going on and being said behind the scenes. I'm not saying Walz would leave for Tennessee, but the right amount of money would get him to thinking along with Tennessee's tradition, fan base, history and alumni could influence him.
