This story was completely false. Waltz hasn't been contacted by anyone and there aren't boosters lined up to get rid of Holly.
No matter how many times you post it on a message board, Holly is not going to be let go after one bad season, no matter what.

Prior to 2009 we were as good as anyone!
We won 5 Championships from 95-08.
Over the same period Uconn won... 5.
The problem is that from 09 to 15, they won 5 more. (including the last 3).
Which is my point....where did we go wrong while UConn is still on top!! To me the game changed and everyone else adjusted while UT did not
How has the game changed? IMO all this started with Summit's cognitive decline and giving Warlick more control.
The only other thing I can think of is when they changed the 10 second rule that hurt us because Summit was so good at the press. Now that the 10 second is back, I'd like to see us go back to a Summit/Pitino style press.
Most on this board are bashing the coach and some players all day long every day. I think they actually believe that their Robotic Posts will get Holly fired.
Cool. Then maybe when they lose 15-20 next year, have a recruiting class again not ranked and attendance dropping low maybe they willThis story was completely false. Waltz hasn't been contacted by anyone and there aren't boosters lined up to get rid of Holly.

Card fan coming in peace.
Met Coach Warlick a couple of years back at the Kentucky State Tournament. She was there scouting Erin Boley of Elizabethtown (I'm their PA Announcer) and we talked for about 15 minutes. She was very nice to talk to.
She really was put into a difficult situation, replacing a legend (Google the number of coaches UCLA has gone through since Wooden).
That being said, I'm not going to get into the keep her vs. fire her argument. That's for the UT fans to discuss.
If she does go I don't realistically see Jeff Walz being a serious contender for her job. Jeff has stated in public that he plans to either retire or be fired from his position. They way he is recruiting and the level to which he has brought this program I think safely removes the fired part from the equation.
His last recruiting class was ranked #1 in the nation and this coming years class is ranked somewhere around #5 .
The administration (AD Tom Jurich) has done a great job in bringing the level of all our programs up to scale with our men's basketball. The U of L women's program is treated no differently. They play in the KFC YUM Center. Although we haven't reached UT's level in fan support we consistently draw around 9,000 per game, and have been in the top 5 in attendance the past few years.
Jeff tells all the recruits that our goal is to win a National Championship, and not just one. We fans are of the opinion that we are to the point where it is only a question of time before we bring one home.
It's gratifying when the historically good programs covet your coach. It' just that we, and I think Coach Walz also, believe that we've reached the level of the elite programs, like UT and there is really no better job than at U of L.
Again, I was really impressed the one time I got to speak with Coach Warlick and I hope the situation resolves itself to everyone's satisfaction . . . but we really want to keep Coach Walz.
If Jeff can mold a team of mostly freshmen and sophomores into championship caliber, just think what he could do with 5 McD AAs and a few spare parts. If UT is going to pull the trigger, they need to do it ASAP. I am sure that Jaff has a good crop of 2017 recruits, and doubt if Holly has anything close to that. I also think that Jeff had a better chance of encouraging one or two top JC post into signing with Tennessee. Right now Holly has way too many negative things associated with her program hat she will need to overcome in order to have a successful recruiting class. One more year of Holly and this program could seriously crash and burn, it has already lost some serious altitude.
