Why is it necessary to always have some well articulated, nuanced view of reality in this forum? Isn't blind optimism in your home team so much more fun? I'm serious! Once we all find some emotional balance and get rid of the need to always be right in a sports discussion, we can start enjoying the sport for what it is -just a game! And a fun one at that. Had fun watching the win yesterday and I really hope we finish strong. Fun times are returning to Rocky Top. Let's enjoy them!!!
I have no issue with blind optimism but if it turns into a negative when it isn't fulfilled that's the point of this thread. Point being the Vandy game. It turned into a big downer for many posters on here and I thought that wasn't warranted. Another bad game will be just the same. The road in the SEC isn't a place to expect great things and isn't a sign of bad things to come IMO.

Exactly, blind optimism tends to turn into blind rage around these arts when that optimism does not bear fruit. Your team does not have to always win and not thinking your team will win does mot make you a bad fan unless you stop supporting them because of it.
I am that dude that is more likely to wear my Orange after a loss or during a game I think we might not win. Those are the times I think my team needs more support. I hate those bandwagon guys that only wear their team colors after a big win to rub it in the faces of others. You know that guy/gal. I will be a UT fan till the day I die. I will attend games any time I can no matter how the season is going and I wish more fans were that way.
Reality is harder to deal with, but living in a bubble is no fun and not very good for ya when your bubble gets oped..
Large Windy City on whole wheat crust at Stefano's. Cold beer and a game of pool at the Longbranch after the game....hmm...
