Are the Vols an NCAA Tournament Team?

I'm having trouble figuring Bama out. They are probably the SEC team I've watched the most besides us. They remind me of Pearl's teams, very athletic and uptempo. Anthony Grant is a good coach too. If we beat them, we will have had to force our slower tempo and eliminate fast breaks. I gotta admit that Mitchell is pretty fun to watch.

yea that is the one game that i dont feel confident putting the W next to, if we had them at home i'd feel alot better. if ccm makes sure we slow them down and play defense then i think this is a w, if we try to start running with them forget it.

mitchell is a freak athletically, is that little lefty there still too that can jump through the roof. his name is slipping my mind right now wanna say last name starts with S but i could be wrong.

Is their other good player named Greene maybe?

jaymichael greene is a monster on the inside, very good post player that most havent heard of. the guy i was thinking of though was senario hillman, dude could flat out sky. green and mitchell are their best players but their pg releford is also pretty damn good too.

so the more of this uk game i watch i dont know whether to feel better about how we played against uk or about how our chances of beating arkansas look better and better? arkansas looks absolutely horrible, and the fact that mike anderson refuses to quit pressing uk shows exactly why arkansas made a horrible hire.

im just curious, who do you see on our remaining schedules as automatic losses?

W @uga
UCONN
L@ vand
W auburn
L @uk
W georgia
W south carolina
L @florida
W arkansas
W @bama
W ole miss
W @s carolina
W @lsu
W vanderbilt

11-5 in sec, 10-6 to be safe. i guess the biggest surprise of my picks is bama at bama, im just not all that impressed by them. vandy at home just depends what team shows up as well.

call me biased, stupid, optimistic, idiotic or all of the above but this i see as being very plausible.

I'd pretty much agree with that. I'm not going to say we win the rest of those, but @ Vandy, @ Ky and @ Fla are losses. I think @ Bama will be too. They are tough and I don't think we can beat them on the road. Vandy has lost a couple at home that they should've won, but seem to be hitting their stride. I like that we get them at the end of the season at home though. Stokes should be settled in and know his role by then.

I think any road game will be an adventure with this team. I'll get a better feel about this team after tomorrow night.

that is fair enough. as has been said many times a loss tomorrow and our chances of going to the tourney are reduced to having to win the sec t. we have to win the games we should win and tomorrow is a game we should win.

That scenario is possible, but we'll probably drop a game somewhere that most of us are currently viewing as a win, like our home game with UGA, for example.

that is very plausible, except at the same time part of me thinks we win a game against another ranked team that nobody is counting. uf away, vandy away, or uk away, even bama away.

If it balances out like that, we'll sneak in. If it's close, I think our streak of getting in will help. Virginia Tech, for example, seems to need to be safely above the cut line before the committee will finally let them in.

If they get left out again and are on the bubble Greenberg is going to freak out on someone.

Not a bad idea to press Teague.

Oh yes it worked out well for akanaas. Teague hardly handled it it was being inbounded to him but he would give it up to gilchrist from there, and then it was dunk city. For a team that prides themselves on pressing, Arkansas, it was very ineffective against uk. Something i would not recommend any team doing against them.

I think Arkansas suffers from "Flordaism" and don't know how to dribble away from home. The same team that played UK last night doesn't look close to the same team that dominated State

not without winning SEC Tournament..or pretty much winning out and making a run in SECT

This could very well be. Still though I don't see a team beating uk in the 80's, and that is the game you are tying to play when you press them. It is junk dunks and wide open shot from there, they are too athletic and good. You saw the success we had with them was a slow em down game and being physical. I know Anderson wants to run but you have to have the horses to run.
