Are we going to drop out of the UN?

We'll just be deadbeats and not pay like a large percentage of the General Assembly.

135 countries contribute less than 0.1% each.

Liberals don’t think we should be the worlds police and we think about defunding the world police and they lose their minds.

UN=unnecessary. Without the US financial and military support, the UN would be just like its predecessor, the League of Nations. How did the group work out?
Realistically, I want no part of a group that wants their agenda to supersede The Constitution of the US. We should move as quickly as possible to withdraw from that organization and kick them out of our country. Let one of the peace loving Islamic countries house them and support them. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I'm not a fan of spicy really.

I would have thought you would be a fan of pepper...

Does a decent job with humanitarian aid when a natural disaster strikes. Outside of that it's pretty useless.

Haley's speech sure hints at it. Or at least that we won't fund it anymore. We fund 22 percent of it now, plus 28 percent of the peacekeeping operations.

Why is this always such a popular target for the neocons? Just because they publicly vote against us, with no teeth to any of it, is no reason to undermine an institution which has often served US interests.

Newsflash, Donny: World leaders won't suck up to you like your lackeys in the Congress.
You answered your own question counselor. We do the lion's share of funding and putting people in harm's way.

We can get out of it and Trump can build a nice hotel on the property.

Screw the UN. Complete waste of money. Move it to Brussels.

After sitting in the DMV all afternoon, I have decided we need less bureaucracy. So let's leave the UN and be pals with Canada.

The DMV has turned me into an anarchist.
DMV in my county is awesome. Make an appointment online, show up, go in and get your bidness done. In and out in way less than an hour.

I've never been a huge fan of the UN because our government can enter into agreements without ratification in the Senate, which is our way of holding government accountable. In essence we don't have a say in the matter.

No President should have that kind of power. And no outside organization's laws should supercede American laws.

Lol. I had to take my mom to the social security office the other day. Holy freaking crap.

My blood pressure goes up when I even think about going to the DMV.
You would think that they could at the least be a little bit friendly. After all our taxes pay their stinking salaries.

I think it's in our best interest to stay out of the UN and other international organizations but Trump is making this about the capital of Israel? OK?...I can't tell if this is just to lift the collective testicles of his constituency or if it's just a maneuver to get us out, no matter the reason.

My guess is we won't drop out.

I was reading last night that there isn't even a framework within the charter on exiting the UN. No one really knows how it would work, so there will be some legal shenanigans.

How is that even possible? You just say you're out and you're out, right?

I understand if there are commitments and obligations we have made (quid pro quo), but as far as needing rules in place for an exit, that just seems silly to me. It's like the Civil War with the south seceding, except there is no ****ing way they are going to go to war with us just to keep us in the club.

I look at it as what's in the best interest of the US. 15 years ago I was a big proponent of the US leaving the UN. Get out, it's a waste, worthless, doesn't do much, ect.

Today, my opinion has changed some. Not that my opinions on the UN have changed much, but if there's going to be a large decision making body made up from the largest countries in the world I'd rather the US be at the top of that influencing the decisions in our favor since every other country is working towards their best interest.

The US has been the king of the hill for decades now. But I don't think we're on as strong of a footing as we once were. Trillions in debt, politically divided, and other countries have grown to rival the US's influence politically and economically. I'd rather us not take an isolationist position. I think it's in our best interest to try and be involved and working to make friends.
