well I am not surprised to see people covering up for the actions of BS and Smith. One poster suggests that it is OK to assault someone. Well, it is NEVER OK unless you are in physical danger. BS and Smith should be arrested and thrown in jail right along with Brooks who enjoys picking fights with people half his size.

I like sticking up for the players- but at some point someone has to step in and get this team under control. You can rest assured that this will haunt BS. He had a chance to be the part time starter but now he has blown it because Fulmer demands that the QB be a leader and Ainge is about a million times more mature than BS. Can you imagine Ainge getting into trouble like BS? I can't. Ainge is the kind of guy Fulmer can trust with the offense. BS is a loose cannon who has shown poor leadership skills and he cannot be trusted to exercise good judgement.

No one is covering up Schaeffer and Smith's actions. Brent was simply taking up for his girl...Whats wrong with that? Just because he is in the spotlight it means he should act like a punk and let someone take something from his girlfriend? Err...I think not. You guys forget that most of the kids that become big time college players dont exactly grow up in the suburbs, but you probably dont care. Everyone doesnt have the same mentality. I know that I would have done the same thing or worse in that case and Im not ashamed of it. How could a man live with himself allowing someone to totally disrespect and steal from his woman? I cant and wont. Erik Ainge is far more mature than Schaeffer, eh? I dont think Ainge would have let the guy getaway with it either, but Im figuring in his case he would be lauded as a Hero and not a Criminal. You guys can beat around the bush all you want, but everytime a black athlete gets into something he is a thug, gangster, etc... Yet... When the shoe is on the other foot...the guy is a hero, was provoked, did what he had to do. Are some of you naive enough to actually believe that profiling doesnt happen? Err....Frustration

I dont care if any of you are backing Schaeffer, but remember this...All of you, whomever you are, who are dissing Schaeffer...Make sure you dont cheer for him when he makes you some money or makes a big play...Why? Because youre not real...Youre two faced and dont deserved to even be called a Vol Fan.

And BS will be the first to sit over there on the sideline and pout when he does not get to play. I would be willing to bet he thinks Fulmer is being unfair over this incident but I don't know that for a fact.

BS needs to look at Clausen if he wants to see how a player should conduct himself. Clausen is a first class individual and Brent would do well to try to act like Rick instead of the thuggin and buggin like he is doing now.

As James Banks can tell you- there are only so many chances that Fulmer will give you and then he is going to get rid of you.

And as soon as he gets in and makes a big play..You will be one of the first ones up screaming at the top of your lungs...Yet...You dont like him...Hmmm

Volz Own I am not surprised that you see nothing wrong. Picking up a person and body slamming them is assault and battery. Period. There are mature ways to handle the situation and BS and Smith did not use good judgement by beating down a student. Like I said, you don't see Ainge disgracing the school like Brent. Ainge is too smart to let himself get caught up in the situation. Do you hear of Clausen getting into trouble ? No, because those guys are real men who take responsibility for their actions.

So you can sit and whine about how unfair things are but Brooks, BS, and Smith have no one to blame but themselves. It is a shame that fine students like Ainge and Clausen even have to associate with people like Brent and Brooks.

Brent and Daniel "D-Block" Brooks are in no way comparable. Lets get that straight now.

It does appear that we are an out of control football team discipline-wise. I wonder if Coach Foolmer will take care of the "investigation" yet again? I long for the days when we had credibility; it seems that our credibility has been replaced with our incredibility (in·cred·i·ble ( P ) Pronunciation Key (n-krd-bl)
adj.
So implausible as to elicit disbelief.).

read into it a little bit more. schaffer didn't just decide to slam the guy down. there was more to it than that.

The fact is - none of us were there and instead of yelling at each other, we should all wait and reserve judgement until the police and CPF sort all of this out.

Exactly! Arguing about it is not going to make it better or worse...so what is the point? :dunno:

Every thing so far is just hear say but I think if someone had a baseball bat, I think that would be physical danger!!!

Well, I see westie is back. He was earlier exposed for lying about his identity here.

Don't take anything he posts seriously because he is a Georgia fan who trolls sports boards attempting to make the Vols look bad.

He'll talk just enough positive to suck you in, then he'll drop a bomb like this thug line.

Go look up the Georgia police blotter westie, that should keep you busy enough.

West what happened and what you want everyone to believe as your version of what happened is wrong. Just because your a coward not everyone else is.

1. The punk bransihes a baseball bat at the football players. Video Tape shows this
2. The punk had stolen a cell phone from Schaeffer's girlfriend
3. Smith is never on video tape as doing anything. Just the word of a thief
4. why did it take 1/2 a day for the thief to run to the cops.

You branish a baseball bat at me you had better use it cause I am coming for you and a little slam on the ground won't cut it.

west your crap is old. It was old on other boards and its already old on this one

Well I see you guys want to take shots at me. That's cool. I am not going to get caught up in it and I will stick to the topic at hand.

Everyone that is defending these two thugs who were out at 5:30 am needs to read what coach Fulmer said

Tennessee head coach Phillip Fulmer has suspended both Schaeffer and Smith saying “the two made a bad social decision and were poor representatives of the team.”

did you people hear that ? Coach Fulmer ain't buying the lame excuses you keep coming up with. These guys were in the wrong and it is all on tape. There is no excuse for their actions and I admire coach for not cutting these two ANY slack.

Like I said, it is a shame that fine students like Rick and Erik have to be associated with players who break the law. (You do realize these two broke the law).

I broke the law once and they made me fix it....trust me, it isn't something that a little duct tape can't fix... :)
