Decent enough considering the circumstances, but the talent gap between us and UF/Bama grows wider again.

The talent gap will always be there as long as Meyer and Saban remain where they are. Kiffin wouldn't have changed that. All we can hope to do is try to shrink it next year.

I hate Kiffin as much as the next but I strongly disagree with that statement. If Kiffin and crew stuck around this class probably would have been top 3 and would have continued to stay that high for years.

I'm pretty sure Kiffin would have.

I think the real question is what coach could have come in with the situation that DD found and done any better in three weeks time? My hat is off to him.

I really hoped CDD had a surprise or two in store for us. I knew we would lose a few today..everybody does, but good teams always get a few too. Isn't bad by any measure but had hoped it would be a little better.

I don't know. Florida, Bama, LSU, and Auburn have better classes and Georgia is almost even. I hope Dooley can coach em up.

This class is not even in the top tier of the SEC. But, I guess it could have been worse.

The main thing is to keep having top 5-10 classes with a stellar class (#1 or #2) every 3-4 years. That is what builds momentum. We've got 2 straight top 10 classes. It's a start.

The Weasel wouldn't have had a top 10 class here!!

Sadly, I think they probably would have pulled at top 5 or 3 class. Having said that, the fact the DD and staff managed to keep the wheels from falling off is beyond amazing. I'd be willing to bet a few weeks ago when everything went down that 90% on here, myself included, didn't think we'd even sniff the top 10. Well, boys and girls, if things pan out, it looks like we'll settle in around #8, a spot that this staff EARNED. They didn't have the big name NFL coaches, a hyped HC, or even a full staff, but they were able to salvage this class. After today I fully expect all true Vols to, if you haven't already, embrace our new HC, and look to the future w/ optimism. When it's all said and done, I believe this class, bonded more tightly than most by turmoil, could be a very strong foundation for the future of UT Football. All the anger, the feelings of betrayal, and the apathy I felt just weeks ago only makes this day that much sweeter. It is indeed great to be a VOL.:salute:

Considering what could have been (in a bad way), what a bad position that douchebag in the left coast left us in, and how well we met every need (except DT)...I defintely have to say I'm very pleased with this class...

When that douchebag first took off I realy believed we'd be lucky to sign 15 players

considering what all has gone down in the last month tennessee should consider itself lucky. i was expecting the worst with the '10 class when kiffin left. i don't see how anyone could say it could have been worse right now.......this isn't a bad class by any stretch of the imagination.

Great under the circumstances, we got alot of impact players, and met most of the need on the OL. James, Fulton,Stone, are going to be great, and I also like Pair.Very upset about copeland, but atleast Brown signed to go along with Miller, and Smith. And we have arguably the best WR class in America. I am very Excited about next year, And Wilcox. GBO!!

The reality is top tier of the SEC = top tier of the nation, truly a SICK conference...

Per Rivals at this moment:
- 3 of the top 5
- 4 of the top 6
- 5 of the top 8 (where we come in)

Point is "not even" makes it sound degrading.

Changing gears:
Check out all the Committed / Unsigned at USC, presume due to pending NCAA investigation conclustion.

Wonder what the shake out will be if the hammer comes down?

Anyone know when this is to occur?

Any time you land in the top ten in recruiting loosing your head coach two weeks before NS you should be extactic!

Some of these posts whining that our class is not in the top tier of the SEC are incredible.

We turned over nearly an entire staff half of a month before signing day. The fact that we stand to land a top 10 class is nothing short of phenomenal.

Some of the posts on here are unbelievable.

So many people on this bored claim that Bammers and Georgia fans are so delusional, etc. These same people need to realize our fan base is just as screwed up. Losing basically the whole staff three weeks before signing day and ending up with this class is incredible imo.

I hate to bring in facts, but USC was in the same boat and has the #1 class at the moment with 5 less signees as us.
