Are you old enough to remember when...

The Tennessee Volunteers Football team...

...struggled to be bowl eligible, winning five or fewer games in the regular season? '05, '08, '11, '12, '13, '17, '18, '20...six out of ten years!

...went an entire decade winning only 50% of their games? 2010-2020

...lost to all three of Alabama, Florida, and Georgia in 11 out of 14 years? (79% loss between 2008-2021)

...went 9-49 in games versus AP top 25 ranked teams? (84% loss between 2010-2021)

...won 0 out of 39 games versus AP top 10 ranked teams? 2007-2021

...went 29-61 versus SEC opponents? (68% loss between 2010-2020)

Football life feels so much better these days. Never thought UT would dig out of the hole. Keep putting on more steam!
Are you asking if most of the board is less than 20 years old?

Actually, I was in middle school when Tennessee started 0-6 before winning 5 in a row to salvage a bad season. That led to a really good run to start the 90's. I'm pretty damn old.

I'm old enough to remember Spurrier at Duke. Old enough to remember Duke beating Tennessee at Neyland.

Old old...

I remember when we sucked when I was growing up in the late 70's, early 80's to 1989 with some bright spots like 1985, but then Johnny's horrible 1988 start, but great finish and that began some good times although we couldn't beat Bama when we were so much better than them. Then we did it in 1995 and started a streak of our own. Then it was not beating UF until 1998 and then all the bad luck turned around in every game for that miracle season.

I don't remember it as what our football teams did...I remember it as what an absolutely incompetent administration did to a great program.

Actually, I was remembering the decade of dominance. Then how frustrating the next 15ish years were. I was skeptical when Heupel was brought on (I actually thought Danny White was taking an easy hire)).

When I look around the landscape at names that were mentioned, (Billy Napier, Hugh Freeze, Dave Dorian, Tony Elliot, Mike Gundy, Greg Schiano, and more) I am sooooo grateful for who Heupel is and what he has done. The ceiling is so high, and it is glorious!

I remember that & more. Was at Neyland when Stevie's Dookies beat the VOls. Painful. Also there when we beat Bear's Bammers in '82, Spurrier's Gators in '98, & many others. Ups & downs, but lots of excitement. GBO.

I remember ‘88 opening up 0-6…The Doug Dickey Show was the first coach’s show I watched as a kid

Those of us who lived through do not want to remember it.

I was there as well. My first game at Neyland. Yay. Lol.

I was there for Jay Graham's long run vs. Bama in '96.
Jason Witten's 6 OT winning catch in 2002.

That's the year I was born! I feel old.

I thought Heupel would get us competitive but not this competitive, this quick.
