Arian Foster to get more PT (merged)

In a "wait a minute" sort thing, I want to ask one question. Why is there such hate for former head coach Phillip Fulmer on these boards. I will be the first to say that I was more than ready for him to go as far back as 2005, when the writing was on the wall that the complacent rot had set in. On the other hand, he did bring home the bacon back in 1998, made 4 SECCG appearances, and had an excellent winning percentage (almost 70 percent of his games). The new staff is doing great, but I don't see piling on the old coach. He is gone. Appreciate his body of work. It wasnt that bad.

I feel the same way. I don't hate the guy, but it was time to move on.

I love Coach Kiffin and his staff, but I'll always appreciate what Fulmer did for Tennessee.

I never was a fan of Fulmer, all I will say is: if he was all some on this board made him out to be, he would not be unemployed. Nick Saban is 1 yr younger then Fulmer, do you think he would go this long without be hired or at least interviewed?

Fulmer inherited a program loaded with talent and depth and left very little.

talent that was 2 blocked FG's from beating the #1 team in the country

Talent, perhaps if we had not been playing undersized linemen of which 2 were walk-ons and had been left with better depth.

More freshmen started and played this year then Fulmer would have ever started. Under Fulmer Hardesty seldom saw the field, I could go on and on.

I have been a fan of the Vols since the late 60's and the way Fulmer let this program run down his past 8 yrs was uncalled for. And even though a blind man could see the program was going in the wrong direction. There are still people who defend Fulmer, where else can you work and walk away with 6 million dollars for doing a half ass job.

There is animosity towards him because of the way it all ended, the fact that some refuse to let him go and how some prop him up as some infallible leader, just to spite the new regime.

I understand all points of view. I personally liked Phillip Fulmer. He was a class act. IMHO, he suffered from job burnout his last 7 years on the job, and just hung on out of pride. However, I will accept his body of work at face value, and will appreciate the night in Tempe, when he led us to the promised land. I also have let him go and hope Lane Kiffin rebuilds us into a contender. I just cant see keeping so much animosity alive. He did lose his dream job and life's ambition, and deservedly so. Let us leave it at that, and wish him well in the future.

And back on topic, no NFL running back has ever gone a career without fumbling. Way to build Arian's confidence, Kubiak. Tell me Kubiak is not coaching like he hears a job change coming. He is in severe flinch mode right now.

Kubiak is apparently not as lenient as Fulmer when it comes down to fumbles. Do rookies fumble more easily? Sure, but unless you are Adrian Peterson, you won't get the ball until you quit fumbling. Hopefully Foster can learn a thing or two.

Glad to see this. He is active over former Titans RB Chris Henry. Hope he does well.
LOL, Chris Henry, the guy couldn't start at Arizona, but the Titans picked him #1?!? It's pretty easy to see Arian would start over him. How many bust draft picks & years did the Titans endure before they figured out their GM was the actual bust? Glad they canned that guy and got things together, Chris Johnson & Kenny Britt are gonna be fine.

no.

I started Meachem, Foster, and Witten. They didn't even get 15 points total. I was owned this week, no championship for me.

That's what you get for going with your heart instead of your head. Witten has killed me too, all season long. I can understand Meachem if you have a thin WR slot, but Foster? lol

Nice 14 yarder on first carry of second half!!!!

7 carries for 51 yards!!

He is looking good, people.

M.Schaub is cooling off..started off hot, but looking shaky now. Threw pick last possession and blew an easy 3rd down conversion throwing incompletion.

Another 4yard carry....that's 80 yards on 14 carries.

They really need to keep giving him the ball. Instead, they through 3 incompletions and punt again...Miami catching up.

Houston with ball again 5:19 left...if they give the ball to Arian I think he could crack the century mark.
