Arkansas' Williams to transfer

Yeah, I guess I'd come down saying that I don't think the coach can be assumed to have lied to the kid. It just might not work out as originally discussed... And that making iron clad contracts that suit 18 year old kids sounds like incredibly troublesome water.

Clearly though, it could stand to be looked at, even just based on the little corner of the problem discussed by us...

Nutt is showing weakness by not sending all the whiners out the door. If you let a bunch of crybabies and stage parents run your program, you deserve chaos. I'd make them someone else's headache.

No doubt. I'd love to see Nutt tell these whiners that they couldn't hold the jockstraps of McFadden or Jones, and then hand them all their walking papers.

So Dick and Mustain want to argue over who should hand off to McFadden.

Symptomatic of the times. Everyone wants everything now now. Regardless that McFadden graduates after next season.

They certainly have no merit to complain about what type of offense the team was running. They have the best RB in the country and won the SEC West. However, that is not the point some are getting at. Them complaining about that is ridiculous. The complaint is that Houston Nutt flat out lied to them in order to get them to come to Arkansas. He said what he knew they wanted to hear just to get them on campus. Can he run his program like that? Sure he can. But, he will see consequences on the recruiting trail. If you are a recruit with Nutt sitting in your house telling you something do you believe him at face value? I dont know if I do after this episode. Why not just tell them, we have 2 stud RB's and we are going to run the heck out of the ball, and if we get the athletes at WR to be able to then we are going to try and transistion to the 5 WR spread in a couple seasons? But, thats not what he said. He promised them they were going to run it and run it now. Dont flat out lie to the kids, that lacks integrity. Nutt knew he no intention of running that offense this year, or even next with McFadden still ther.

A case of:

1. Parents living or re-living their own dreams.

2. Some of the college sports parents are extremely similar to the beauty pagent parents.

did nutt truly guarantee mustain on co. that they would run the 5 wide spread offense from day 1? or just that the system would be implemented?

Most amazing of all is that, at the end of a breakout season for this school, Nutt has to call a team meeting to straighten out discord caused by three...wait for it....freshmen!
I can't stop shaking my head at this...

This is random and unrelated, but do you watch "How I Met Your Mother" or is the ...wait for it...statement just a coincidence?

That's what I'd like to know. But regardless, they need to shut up , practice hard , learn the playbook and play ball, otherwise "Hit the road Jack"

I heard about this on the radio in Memphis today. Apparently there were some sour grapes with Mustain going into the SC game. He had a poor week in practice and in pregame he was "just going through the motions". After the INT and uninspired effort, Nutt benched him. After that it boiled the rest of the year between the freshmen and Nutt. The guy on the radio said it is shaping up like the Spurrier-Terry Dean deal down at Florida. Terrry Dean was all-everything but had a bad attitude. Spurrier buried him in the bench and he's probably flipping burgers somewhere today.
