Hey, genius, Butch is running the zone read. The zone read is predicated on reading the 9 technique and the safety and being a double threat running the ball and throwing it. Georgia knows that Worley is not a threat running or throwing. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the only threat we have is Lane, and Neal.I'm still waiting for the day when those of you that obviously know everything A) Turn in your application to be a coach or B) Go walk on since it's obviously easy to see everyone that is open on the field.
Worley has ZERO run support, thus meaning that UGA knows that he has to throw. He's not the best, but he's far from the biggest problem on the field right now. That is what should be easy to see.
The whole "some guys shine on game day" mantra is overplayed imo. I don't believe many freshmen quarterbacks who dont get it in practice suddenly get it during live game action.
To me, coaching to win doesnt mean playing a quarterback who yu dont believe is your best option. It's well established at this point we don't have much chance of winning with Worley and it would be nice to see CBJ coach to win and not coach to avoid the blowout. If it's another Peterman debacle then it's another Peterman debacle...and the W/L record will still be the same but at least he coached to win.
