He's been retweeting a lot of his friends' regarding looking forward to football games in Knoxville. Hard to argue that UT isn't his leader right now.

Yea, idk if it was this thread or not, but I was mentioning that. I was looking at his twitter, and what appears to be his good friends, the guys he talks to the most, are all attending UTK with Ashley. So besides having his twin sister who he's close to, he has a few of his good friends there as well. I really feel great, obviously anything can happen on an OV to duke, but I'll be surprised if in the end he isn't a Vol.

On a side note...Nichols come to a few games a year here, I'd expect the same, maybe more with his sister now here. I could see Hubbs making a couple of those trips with him which would be a good thing as well.

Heard from a reliable source that Nichols is definitely not coming to Memphis. Memphis will most likely get one of Iverson or j3, UT most likely gets one of Nichols or j3.

The people "in the know" have said Nichols to Memphis is a no chance, these visits and talks are just courtesy, lots of UofM fans don't want to think that though.

Very plausible, all this stuff changes by the day though, as you've mentioned before. I've never heard anything about those two not wanting to play together though, and Galilee has said a few times, if decision day was today he'd be a Vol.

I mean he has to go somewhere, and if UT gets Nichols and Memphis gets KI he's either joining one of those schools with those guys, or going somewhere completely different, maybe Georgetown.

I don't see how you can say no when Duke or Vandy come after you...AMAZING schools...I don't see how Memphis (play at home in front of friends/family?) or UT (his sister goes there) can really compete...to me, it's lip service.

Last I checked Vandy has been in 3 straight NCAA tourneys, and Stallings does have 2 Sweet 16's. (that's a better resume than Josh or Gonzo right now)

that said Duke is ranked the #10 school in America...Vandy is ranked #17...UT and Memphis are in the triple digits.

Austin is a private school kid with great grades...I doubt he would turn down Duke or Vandy.

I doubt Vandy makes it 4 straight tourney appearances this year though...they will have a rough go losing practically all of their contributing players last year.

Also, there aren't a ton of athletes that base their recruitment off of academics these days (even private school kids), and I can't completely blame them...if I was a highly athletic young man, I would want to play for the most competitive team possible.

That said, Duke offers both, but I still feel good about where we stand.

Are you honestly trying to say that a kid with NBA aspirations is going to pick his college based off some random academic ranking? next you're going to tell me that law students pick their schools of choice based in the ESPN coaches poll.

Duke offers top 10 academics, 4 NCAA basketball titles, the winningest coach in mens college basketball, and TONS of media exposure.

Vandy offers top 20 academics, great location, and a good basketball program sporting 3 straight NCAA tourneys and 2 recent Sweet 16's under their current coach.

but yeah...lets pass on all that to play for Gonzo at UT all because his sister goes there. :thumbsup:
